I admit as a Leafs fan I’m not the biggest McKenna fan, although I expect them to draft him and I’ll cheer him on either way, but I can totally envision a scenario 5-6 years from now when people on social media are asking how in the world Toronto passed on the 6’3 right shot D who’s a Norris candidate year in year out for the smallish winger. I mean this is probably a moot point if McKenna does become a Kucherov or kane type, but I don’t think he’ll reach their level.

They're identical twins on the same team with presumably a near identical training regime?
10 pounds at the 160-170 range at their age is a big difference. This is not because one's more hydrated and the other took a shit more recently lol

Re the Sedins: I can definitely understand how their weights can differ later in their careers as their roles are different and they might prioritise different things with training, but it's how the Ruck's are different at this stage that I find strange
As a Canucks fan McKenna reminds me of the Sedin twins, I posted in another thread he reminds me of Daniel + Henrik (the third Sedin), but he has their best qualities. McKenna is going to be a legit star IMO. He does need bulk up a bit, but hes going to be an absolute monster at the NHL level.
Chase Reid is such a prize however. Size, mobility, skill, and his development year by year has been astronomical. You're bang on in your assessment, because I also feel hes going to be a yearly Norris contender. Shades of Zach Werenski with this kid.

Looks like it’s about a 7 pound difference ( 183 vs 176) . Pretty negligible to me

Mark Scheig used to publish heights and weights on the day of but it looks like they've put a lot more restrictions on media access. We've only seen a few pieces.

I don't think anyone has said the first part and they're connected at all. Plenty of uber athletically gifted players fell apart because they couldn't put the necessary work in. There are so many storiees.
I'm not saying McKenna doesn't work hard the issue is something that can be difficult or impossible to correct. Celebrini is everywhere off the puck and puts in the effort constantly. McKenna strugged with his off puck and defensive responsibility.
Some players have the ability to have the motor going nonstop and others just can't.

I think their weights are updated at the combine . I could be wrong of course . The above were the weights I saw reported. One was a quarter inch talller as well
Malhotra was top 25 on 6 of the 15 lists. That's above average. 6/15 > 25/90
It's sometimes said that defensive motor is a defensive IQ issue, and if you watch Gavin McKenna try to kill a penalty you can get that idea. He doesn't know what his opponents are trying to do.
I'm not 100% sure if that explains the motor issue but the other theories aren't any more flattering.
The last thing I want is to be influenced by combine results into thinking a player is better than they are because they can kill it in the gym, or thinking a player is worse because they still have room to get stronger.

Many say d is the easiest to correct. Maby to be average, or a step under average. If there is no iq at all involved, all would be Lidstrom or Bergeron level.
