I don't think Goodrow's like a great player, but I've never had a problem with him. Most guys we sign for the reasons we signed him come in here and take the rest of their career off. He's a serious competitor. Plays with a lot of intensity which is great to see!

a great player wouldn’t be here making 3.5 mil a year.

I think for all he brings I spend that all day on him

You also started bitching after like game 5 and made it seem like the season was lost because they weren't playing well and there was absolutely no hope. So maybe you were wrong. You are one of the most negative posters and practically nothing make you happy.

And you can be sure there is more bitching to come, because being a fan isn’t just about blindly cheering. It also means being critical when the team deserves it, and despite the stellar record right now there are still some things to nitpick.

I’m very glad they are winning, which, unsurprisingly, they have looked a ton better once Kakko got his game going. As I and others said many times, this team is going nowhere unless the kids develop and thankfully Kakko has turned it on and hopefully Lafreniere isn’t far behind.

I’m still not convinced this is a team that can win a Cup without locking up a 1B center behind Zibanejad that isn’t Strome; and furthermore, I still honestly believe they need not only that center but also either Kravtsov to return or another dynamic wing as well, for the long term. So until that’s addressed the team needs to make moves to do so, and bitching will validly continue at times.

I think the thing you have to be careful with going forward is that you can't now go spend $3.5 mill on Rooney or Hunt or something. If those guys need to re-up and want a lot, you need to let them walk and find the next Rooney or Hunt for cheap.

I don't think one guy paid like Goodrow will kill you but if you keep paying them in order to keep all the effective bottom six guys then you run out of cap space

theres no way Rooney or Hunt would get that deal that Goodrow did as a ufa coming off two Cups in which he played basically top 6 mins

I think both those guys can be brought back relatively cheap

Dynamic? Guy who’s playing instead of Kravtsov just scored the GWG. And Chytil is all about dynamism. Get with the team.

You mean the guy who just scored his like second career goal? Yes I’m hoping he becomes a dynamic scoring winger just like I’m also hoping that Kevin Rooney becomes Jonathan Toews, but there are very different levels of reasonability in hoping either of those things happen versus hoping that a top 10 draft pick does it. But fair enough, assuming Kravtsov isn’t the guy either then we need both a top C and a top winger.

I am very much with the team, being with the team means advocating them doing the things needed to win the Cup instead of cheerleading and excusing any bad things it does.

They look good right now and that is fun and nice. I’m not convinced they look like they are gonna beat the elite teams in a 7 game series though. It is worth discussing whether the team as constructed still has fatal flaws; sorry if that is “too negative,” for some.

That being said their opportunities to address those problems are water under the bridge at this point in many respects so I will enjoy the necessary growth of Kakko and Lafreniere this year, if it happens. I’m not gonna sit here and get excited if our fourth line is our best line though. That’s not a good thing. Similarly as much as I like Kreider, he’s 29 now and he is why he is, if he’s our best forward that’s also a problem. I’m happy when he scores but unhappy if he’s playing like our best forward cause frankly we need him to be like our 5th or 6th or 7th best forward to be a true contender.

My first game in 4 years.

Garden looks great. Penn Station felt like I landed on a new planet.

Are people finally done bitching about Panarin?

Yup, seems like Zibanejad is the new whipping boy. When there is no more Howden the bar just lowers itself for whipping boy status.

What a win at the Garden last night. Ive been to 3 games this year already and for all the crap the Rangers crowd gets, its been extremely loud and engaged, and it seems like the players feed off it.

Anyway, this was a big boy pants game for the whole team. Montreal has no talent but most of the team was playing in the Cup Final last year and they work hard. Primeau was also great, easily couldve been a 6-2 win.

The most impressive thing to me was how galvanized the young players looked, specifically Kakko/Chytil/Gauthier. All were flying around the ice turning good defense into offense. The sky is the limit for this team if some of these guys pop off.

Reaves fight was great, and Trouba is a man amongst boys out there. Huge hits all night and he smoked an experienced fighter in Anderson at the buzzer. He and Kreider are playing at a different level right now.

Mika is getting closer to where he needs to be too, the pass to Kreider on that goal was absurd and he was very engaged in the D zone using his body to separate the puck carrier. I also give Strome a lot of shit, but he impressed me in this game, that whole line with Panarin & Kakko are showing great chemistry. Gallant is looking very smart sticking with them.

Im loving what im seeing since the Florida game, it seems like the practice time last week got them where they needed to be. Lets keep it rolling. LGR.

I went with Kakko, Kreider, and Shesty. Kudos for putting Kakko twice in the poll, you ain’t fooling me. lol.
