Any OHL GM watching the Juniors should take note at how Gibson is handling this potent Finnish offense with ease. He's playing a ton of minutes and I'm not sure Canada has even given up a shot with him on the ice, including on the PK.

If an East team gets him, they instantly become the favourite in that conference.

Spin Master driving the hype train! I think by now everyone who is an OHL fan knows what Gibson is. I wonder why Stevie Y traded him?

It will take more than adding Gibson to get an eastern conference team favoured over Barrie I think.

Although I may be crazy, but I feel Barrie needs more offensive scoring ability. Although Cole Beauduion is an amazing player/prospect I’m not sure he’s gonna be the guy to score goals with any regularity. More of a 200 foot D specialist/special teams guy.

Barrie probably does add a point producing LW. They are pretty much set at every other position, particularly centre with Wakely, Beaudoin, one of Jelsma/Wigle/Gardiner, and J.Newton.

He would be a game changer for Oshawa, as he could completely neutralize that top line with Jelsma and Wakely in the playoffs like no other defenseman in this league can do. The same goes for Kingston to a lesser extent, due to their weak goaltending.

Saginaw's top players (Misa, Parekh, Willis, Bloom, Beck) got 0 goals in 3 games last year where the Hounds could use Gibson against them. That wasn't really a surprise if you watched.

Oshawa will need more than Gibson to match up favourably with Barrie.

We all know that a dominant junior player isn't always necessarily a highly thought of NHL prospect. Why did Nashville trade for him? They have a long history of churning out great defensemen.

Team Canada is using him as their top guy and he's playing like it. That isn't spin, it's just the truth.

I don't agree. I think they are already a coin flip. If Gibson were on another team, you would almost certainly be salivating over his talent.

Due to his team, you see him as a depth player that won't make an impact, as you do with every other player on the team that you hate more than any OHL fan hates a team.

It sure looks like Schaefer is the top guy, maybe best player.
Right now, Barrie is better than Oshawa at forward, on defence, and in goal.

That isn't what the coaching staff seems to think, but what do they know? Dave Cameron coached the Greyhounds. That makes him a total idiot.

The never ending pessimism and hate for our GM is getting old. We have 2nd most wins in the league during Raftis' tenure.

I'm all for some constructive criticism, and would join in myself (I'm far from a Raftis cheerleader) but it's just a bunch of false statements and shit posting lately.
At this point, shouldn't Gibson's destination be the worst kept secret? Trying to stay confident that Raftis isn't going to screw this up, but...

Red Wings are full of 1st roud D prospects who were ahead of Gibby on depth chart so they traded him to a team that wanted to draft him and still had that interest. It's a great situation for Gibby as he would have had a tough time cracking Detroit with all the stud D prospects ahead of him. Nashville is absolutely pleased to have him.

Whoever trades for Gibby is getting an absolute horse who will shut down anything and help transition defense to offense and chip in some offense to go with stellar defense. Oshawa, Kingston or Barrie send us you best offer. Due to our current lineup we prefer a top 07 or 08 forward and 2×2nd, 2×3rd, 2×4th and 2×5th for the top Overall 2 way D man in the CHL.

I feel with Reid and Solomon we can fill in Gibbys absence with 2 of them picking up the slack. Reid will fill in the offensive loss and looks great so far at both ends. The Soo has Solomon playing vs the top lines of other teams and top PK already and along with Gibson is the only plus Dmen on the team in +/-. We desperately need some offensive punch back in the deal to help Martin out driving the offense.

Raftis now is the time to sell and you have the biggest trade chip in your control.

I share your concern. Bet Dale, and many others do as well.

It is Time for making The Big Selloff, it’s so obvious.

Impressed with attendance through a meh season.

Time to set the table for the future - be real contenders - and future SRO crowds.

Cameron made a huge mistake not having Gibson out there for that key penalty kill, after he's been dominant shorthanded. The guy is a horse, leave him out there.

He's lucky that Ritchie bailed us out.

7 minutes of PP. 2 full minutes of 5 on 3. 0 to show for it.

I’ve never seen Dean look so defeated. His body language wasn’t the same to me.

I'm under no illusions that it would have affected the result, but that officiating from Burchell was an embarrassment to the league.

Abraham had a death grip on Solomon's arm in one of the most clear cut penalties you'll ever see. Solomon breaks free and gets a penalty.

A few minutes later, he does the same thing again right behind the Hounds net and there's no call.

Then don't even get me started on the "high stick" on Hicks. The ref turned around to see him faking an injury and made a call without even knowing what happened.

I actually thought they were good for the first half of the game, but then they totally lost control.

Carlisle showed good leadership by absolutely destroying Nesbitt in a fight. The team was coming off of an embarrassing PP and played a lot better afterwards.

Really sloppy game overall, especially from the defense. You can tell how much they miss Gibson. Reid made a pair of awful blunders that led directly to goals. I can't recall seeing such a good skater be so bad defensively. I hope we see good progression over the remaining games.
