Any OHL GM watching the Juniors should take note at how Gibson is handling this potent Finnish offense with ease. He's playing a ton of minutes and I'm not sure Canada has even given up a shot with him on the ice, including on the PK.

If an East team gets him, they instantly become the favourite in that conference.

Spin Master driving the hype train! I think by now everyone who is an OHL fan knows what Gibson is. I wonder why Stevie Y traded him?

It will take more than adding Gibson to get an eastern conference team favoured over Barrie I think.

Although I may be crazy, but I feel Barrie needs more offensive scoring ability. Although Cole Beauduion is an amazing player/prospect I’m not sure he’s gonna be the guy to score goals with any regularity. More of a 200 foot D specialist/special teams guy.

Barrie probably does add a point producing LW. They are pretty much set at every other position, particularly centre with Wakely, Beaudoin, one of Jelsma/Wigle/Gardiner, and J.Newton.

He would be a game changer for Oshawa, as he could completely neutralize that top line with Jelsma and Wakely in the playoffs like no other defenseman in this league can do. The same goes for Kingston to a lesser extent, due to their weak goaltending.

Saginaw's top players (Misa, Parekh, Willis, Bloom, Beck) got 0 goals in 3 games last year where the Hounds could use Gibson against them. That wasn't really a surprise if you watched.

Oshawa will need more than Gibson to match up favourably with Barrie.

We all know that a dominant junior player isn't always necessarily a highly thought of NHL prospect. Why did Nashville trade for him? They have a long history of churning out great defensemen.

Team Canada is using him as their top guy and he's playing like it. That isn't spin, it's just the truth.

I don't agree. I think they are already a coin flip. If Gibson were on another team, you would almost certainly be salivating over his talent.

Due to his team, you see him as a depth player that won't make an impact, as you do with every other player on the team that you hate more than any OHL fan hates a team.

It sure looks like Schaefer is the top guy, maybe best player.
Right now, Barrie is better than Oshawa at forward, on defence, and in goal.

That isn't what the coaching staff seems to think, but what do they know? Dave Cameron coached the Greyhounds. That makes him a total idiot.

At this point, shouldn't Gibson's destination be the worst kept secret? Trying to stay confident that Raftis isn't going to screw this up, but...
