you have to wonder if it's a psychological thing for miller. i wasn't sure if he was ready to be a full time starter, but his play has been worse than anybody could have expected between pre-season and regular.
I feel like it has to be.. He has had good stretches in the past. It would be awesome if he figures it out!

A new GM and coach will instantly make him stop a puck?

Just to be clear.. I’m not against a change in management. At any level. But he’s NHL drafted, who’s had ample opportunity to prove himself. Why they chose to start Ivanov 18 times in a row when he was a backup was beyond me. But at the end of the day, you control your own destiny. Then again, maybe there was a reason Ivanov made all those starts… and we are seeing it now

No hahahaha it won’t help him stop pucks that’s not what I meant by this comment .. lol

What I mean is it cost us 2 2nds and 1 3rd for Landon Miller, overpaid for a goalie who hasn’t developed. Thats GM(overpay) and coach ( not developed . All I meant.

I wouldn’t say “ample” opportunity. He got starts against the worst teams possible always lol was never tested.

Didn't see the game but nice to see the new guy contribute in his first game. A big body is always nice in the playoffs.

Does he use his size or is he more of a Tim Gettinger style soft big body?

Small sample size but seemed to be fairly skilled. Like had no problems keeping up to Martin and Hayes. He didn't crush anyone, but did a good job of shielding the puck

Ahhhh I see. My apologies. Yes That is a failure for sure. It seems our 1st and 2nd rounders from that 06 draft aren’t panning out, or have yet to. I mean I hope Miller can turn it around. I still root for him. And therr has been a lot of question marks on how they have used him, so I agree with his stunted development.

I've never done this before (come onto another board to say Sarnia got every call) but today is the day! Haha.

U guys got hosed pretty hard today. Soft calls on u. Non blatant calls on us. The disasterclass at the end with linesman getting in the way if your dump-ins. Just a mess.

I'm no fan of Dean but he had every right to Rip into them today. Martin is a special talent. Hayes is nasty too. Hope Schenkel is alright. 🍻

You know why it is like this game after game? The officials are tired of the abuse from John Dean. This isn’t the first game and it won’t be the last ( OHL playoffs round 2 game 6).

I’ve seen coaches yell before and get mad but John Dean goes over the top, all game long, almost every game.

This won’t fix the power play. It was abysmal last year too lol.
Looks like we were at least top 7 last year so abysmal is not the word i would use.

i don't care if it doesn't fix it, it will 100% make it better. i never in a million years thought i would be anxious for Mignosa to get healthy for our powerplay.

it's not an ideal scenario to see more defensive oriented guys like Carlisle on the PP, but at the same time, who goes in his spot? do we roll 4 forwards? is Golub getting any PP time? will McConnell-Barker be on the PP when healthy? there's not exactly a wealth of untapped offense in our defensive 6. same with at forward... we have a few obvious forward choices for the PP but trying to construct 2 PP lines is inevitably going to involve guys who would never see the PP on a team that wins more games than they lose.

i suspect special teams struggle all season but that's just my "negative" take on the subject. trade away gibson and perhaps a forward and it's gonna get even uglier. i'm at the point i'm basically rooting for a full tank season because the on-ice product and off-ice pick cupboards are both ugly and beyond repair without the rebuild so many of us have been begging for.

another thought is the status of owen allard. it will be interesting to see what kind of usage he gets as the Roadrunners season gets started this weekend. is he going to be a full contributing member of the roster or will he see limited usage and be returned to the OHL? just thinking out loud this morning.

The problem this year is that the fans don't understand that a rebuild means that we are going to lose a lot of games. Everyone is used to having good to decent teams. I want to lose. Bring on the high picks. Hopefully send gibby to mississauga for 2 seconds in 2025. Load up and go on a run.

I don't blame the fans because the organization has been selling magic beans for years about "avoiding the cycle of junior hockey" and not rebuilding.

but you're right about the fans... i talk hounds with a STH at work and he doesn't seem to understand why our bad 2024 draft and lack of future draft picks are a problem, and doesn't understand why we'd move players this year knowing it makes our team worse.

Are we in a rebuild? lol. I guess we will see how things look after deadline.

Better hope Gibson makes it to the trade deadline or Raftis is NOT going to get the best deal available

Cool piece of history I found at the family homestead. I remember this hanging in my father's antique store for a few years, thought it had been sold. Will be going into a new frame and into the man cave shortly.

Agreed lmao. He is our top returning scorer and finished 3rd in scoring on our stacked team last year. He’ll definitely help us out and the power play we got rolling right now LOL… Does anyone know his timeline of return??

Thanks! I have a couple of neat old pieces of Greyhound memorablia thanks to my old man.

Also have the sign from the dressing room the year they tore down the Memorial Gardens, signed by the last team to play in that building. My father bought it from Kyle Dubas who was having a garage sale at the time before heading off to college. He also managed to get a hold of a watch that was given to players and staff only the year Gretzky was a hound, and somehow get a copy of the printing press for the Sault Star the day they won the Memorial Cup. Perks of having a father who was an antique and memorablia dealer.

No Owen Allard in the 24/25 Tuscon Roadrunners official roster.

Looks like we won’t be seeing Nordh either lol. Raftis said he was “ lead to believe “ lol a lot of that this year.

I’ve been going back and forth on this. I don’t think it’s due to incompetence, although you can argue the stance of never rebuilding and hanging on to valuable assets year in and year out is questionable, but that’s likely more of an ownership directive.

Are the recent blunders indicative of a lack of presence or effort? I’ve heard some STH complain that Raftis doesn’t live here and does a lot of his managing remotely. Could that be catching up to him?
