Here's a question for those who know the rule book better than I do. Why does Saginaw's roster on the CHL/OHL website list 34 players? A couple weeks before the end of the season they had no active rookies now they have 4. Can they pick the 20 players who will dress for the game from the 34 listed?

Those rookies were on B cards. There junior B teams were finishing up their season. Got called up when they were eliminated. They’ll get to practice, train, etc but they’ll never see ice time.

BMB.... Like I said, hop on his back, he will carry the team (along with D'Intino).
Replace Evans with the more skilled baby BMB, and you're all set for round 2.

Who do you think has a higher ceiling? I don't get a chance to see them as often as you guys. Might be too early to say.
I think right now Evans is a step ahead, based on his defensive zone play. Saginaw has a wicked forecheck, and we are going to need our D to move the puck quickly and efficiently to get out of our zone. Both have shown some good offensive instincts, Brodie the better finisher. For a defenseman though it's important to figure out the defensive side of the puck and Evans has done that extremely well for a first year player.

As far as a higher ceiling, who knows? I see Evans more like a Carlisle type player, and Brodie more like a Karki. Will they reach those heights? Let's wait and see!

I like Evans. He had more points this season and is better defensively/physically in my opinion.
i know it's because they're from London but i agree. i think Evans is going to be a gem in the next few seasons. he's already pretty good defensively and plays rough. add in some offense and we have a player. but we will definitely need BMB's offense from the back end.

Pops is spot on with his comparisons though.

Guilty as charged! Killing time until next round. Thx for the scouting reports, gents. Two talented yutes on the backend, not to mention the veteran standouts.
Round 2 is going to be exciting.

I think Brodie's offensive ceiling is higher but as a forward converted to defense I feel like he's still learning the decision making side of the position. He hasn't put it all together yet but the skating/hands are good enough he could be a great player by the time he's 19.

Unfortunately BMB2 is not the more skilled player between the two. Evans is steps ahead of him, I think.

His skating is not good at all. I can’t help but think it’s the main reason he was moved from F to D( didn’t watch Brodie before the Soo). If there is one thing that I find is his weakest point, it’s his skating. He’s one full year older than Spencer Evan’s also.

4 months isn't a whole year lol.

But hopefully they'll both be really good in the future. Both very different players tho

Edit* sorry, didn't read till the bottom lol

I think Evans is more polished and well rounded at this time. I see some Carlisle like abilities in Evans as well. As for BMB2 I see some offensive potential and once he gains more confidence in his own zone he should be good. I heard Hunter Solomon is practicing with the team since last week. Can anyone confirm?

I think our D looks solid moving into next year with 5 returning D if we include Carlisle. I'm hoping Kyle Raftis drafts some good forwards with our first 2 picks and also lands 2 import forwards. We lose D'Intino, Frasca, Beck as expiring OAs. Hayes, BMB, Karki and Kudryavtsev likely turn pro. So we will lose alot of offense. Could possibly trade potential OAs Schenkel and Dezoette if any takers.

I'd like to see Carlisle, Fantino and Allard as out OAs next year. Thoughts on lineup below for 2024/2025. Rebuilding year and alot of offense lost. I have penciled in 07 draft picks Solomon, Smith and Gillen plus U18 pick Tegelaar.

Fantino Allard Mignosa
Cloutier Martin Hayes
Import Brown Import
08 Vader B. Smith
FA/08

Gibson Carlisle
Virgillio Evans
Solomon BMB2
Gillen

Miller
Tegelaar

Look out Saginaw, the boys are ready to go!!

Now let's say hypothetically this is our lineup in September, who from this lineup actually makes it with the team beyond trade deadline? I see Allard, Mignosa, Cloutier and Gibson all as potential trade bait

Is it Thursday yet? What a long wait for this fan. Two very good teams gonna battle. It's unfortunate 1 of these teams will not be advancing. Both these teams can score goals. First goalie to make the first 10-12 saves will give their team an advantage. I can't wait for tomorrow night.

Hunter Solomon and at times this season so was Keegan Gillen

Hounds just posted a photo with Waterloo in the Soo Greyhounds dressing room yesterday. They all had suits on except for Hunter. Hunter was rocking Soo Greyhound gear.

Jeez, I think we keep Cloutier and Mignosa. They are going to be very good OAs the following year to go along with our 06s.

I would say Gibson, Schenkel, Allard, Carlisle are all trade bait.
