Wonder if Tanner Dickinson got a gold package when they pried him away from the NCAA route? Hayton should have one, and until they know for sure that he's not returning they won't be able to free that one up.

I believe also that some gold packages transfer when traded, and others stay with the original team depending on the trade agreement (ie. Hayden Fowler's and Liam Hawel's gold packages might count as either a Greyhounds package or an Otters/Storm package). Not sure if imports have ever gotten them? To muddy the waters further.

Likely Gold Packages:
Hayton
O'Rourke
Holmes

Possible Gold Packages:
Roth
Dickinson
Hawel
Fowler
Pytlik
*Malik

Edit: struck through imports, OA, signed players, as per OHLOutsider and OHL4Life (thanks!)

Don't believe Euro's are in the mix for Gold ( education) packages. They are compensated in other ways.

Habs camp will tell the tale.
If he's there that's big, if he stays past 48 hours that's HUGE.
its only big if hes not paying his way. you can pay your own way and stay for as long as you like, 48 hour rule is void
The 48 hour rule is only one factor that can affect NCAA eligibility. In this case (Cole Caufield), I believe the factor might be missing classes.
Even if the player fully pays his own way to Development Camp, the NCAA has additional rules that govern attendance. The most important rule is that players may not miss any classes at school in order to attend either a Development Camp in July or an NHL Rookie Camp in September. Thus, if a player is registered for summer classes at school, he cannot attend an NHL Development Camp. For this reason, Laczynski was ineligible to attend the Flyers Development Camp this year. Come Rookie Camp in September, every NCAA prospect is affected (which is why they do not attend).

you can scratch off hawel as well, once they become an oa they dont count towards the 7. i believe that hayton has signed an nhl contract, once you sign an nhl contract the packege gets voided, so thats another you can knock off. id be pretty surprised if the soo kept fowlers designation, but you never know.

the other guys could very well have one, no one knows unless your in the organization.

Correct, once a contract is signed, they are freed up from their package.

Hoping to pop in a few times during training camp. I will be paying attention to the forwards mostly in training camp as it should be highly competitive for the last 3 spots.

I don't want to put too much pressure on Holmes; after the unbelievable rookie season O'Rourke had, we could end up inadvertently putting unrealistic expectations on Holmes this year.

I don't think so. That's why Ryan Roth wasn't moved. Bad business ...... I could be wrong but, I don't think so.

Edit: Ya so it's for anyone they wanna use it on, full year paid for each year in the league. I also don't know if we used one on Roth but I am assuming we did from info I got. Gabe Guertler is a good example he had one they used full package to pull him from.NCAA, and now using it a PEI UNI

What info did you get? Bad business meaning what? I've always wondered about his deal. Just read his bio again after reading your comment. From Detroit Honeybaked program, played a few games in the USHL as a 16 year old, former NCAA commitment, top ten in scoring as a rookie, limited role after the Raddysh/Sambrook trade, 4pts in playoffs, 21 goals and 42pts in second season with 3pts in the playoffs and guessing he was not happy about the coaching change. I feel exactly the opposite that you do, Roth likely wanted a trade but we didn't want to let him go unless it was for a huge addition to the team (Suzuki deal). Also, heard his family has big money, so I doubt the gold package would be a hurdle. I hope we keep him because we will need his points this season. Wouldn't be surprised if he scored 60+ pts.

Guys .... I simply meant teams inquired about him but it would be bad business to move him as we utilized a gold package to pry him to come to SSM

His father as far as I know didn't want him to come here.. I could be wrong...

O’rourke And Pytlik are the returnees I’m most excited to see their summer growth and development.
