Nah, unlike the Kings, the Lakers will be a desired destination for the FAs, due to its winning tradition. As soon as Kobe's gone, I think the Lakers will start to look better.

That really hasn't been the case though after the whole Dwight Howard ordeal. Seems like more guys are shunning the Lakers because they're aware of the mess and drama they have to deal with.

It's going to take more than just Kobe retiring for them to get improve. They now have a meddling owner who thinks he knows how to run a team better than his GM, and an inept coach who has no clue about drawing any defensive strategy.

Jim Buss and his hirings and poor management choices (like trading for a broken down Steve Nash) has set the Lakers back for many years. And yet I thought the early-mid 90s was rough.

He should reserve his meddling for solving Scooby-Doo like schemes.

Well, a year after Kobe supposedly retires, Jim Buss is also said to leave the lakers, so, in a couple of years, we should see some legit FA signings here in LA.

I don't know when Durant becomes a UFA, but he'd be very high on my list.

This upcoming summer, and his foot is still a major concern among suitors.

I suspect even if Kobe retires, the Lakers will still somehow keep him around and Kobe will still make the Lakers be all about him, as opposed to doing something that would benefit the organization.

The Rams are an awful football team. Jeff Fisher is an awful coach.

Not an awful football team, but a very frustrating team to watch for sure. The defense is good, although, the past 3 weeks or so, they've shown vulnerability. We need a QB, and a deep threat WR. Someone like Watkins would be nice. Although, I thought Austin was supposed to be that deep threat. I'm sure before they come back to LA, Fisher will be a goner.

It's absolutely amazing how the Rams have blown not one, but TWO, #2 picks on failed Tackle projects.

That is just absolute amazing.

When you have no quarterbacks and no WR's and a marginal offensive line you are an awful football team. This isn't 1988, you can't win with the ground game and defense. And the Rams secondary isn't even that good either.

Tell that to Fisher. Their scouting sucks too. The days of drafting guys like Issac Bruce and Tory Holt are long behind them. You'd think with all those picks they got for RG 3 someone would've stood out. Most have been average at best.

We still won the trade though. RG3 turned into a major bust, although injuries did hurt his chances.

Then there was this:

He is, but they don't have anyone who can throw him the ball, and the offense isn't built around passing.

Austin could be a Randall Cobb caliber player if the Rams actually had a QB or a WR that could stretch the field. He's the type of guy that's going to leave St. Louis and go somewhere else and catch 100 balls and be a huge weapon.

If the Rams don't use their first two picks on a WR and QB someone should lose their job.

Expecting Stanford to line up two offensive tackles as tight ends again and just run the footall against USC in the Pac-12 title game. The only chance USC has is if they get ahead by 10 or more points early and force Stanford out of the comfort zone offensively.

I hope Kobe doesn't have anything to do with the team. He was upset that they didn't trade a very young future star big man in Bynum (before his knees went to hell) for an aging Jason Kidd. That's like us trading Toffoli 3 years ago for Thornton

The apple fell very far from the tree when it came to the Buss children. I see the Lakers turning into the Raiders: a decade of futility. Probably need to sell the team to an owner and management core that know what the **** they are doing.

I agree, I think the current ownership, has no idea how to build a winning team.

The Lakers reputation is not going to save them from an inept ownership.

Check out the EDM Oilers.

I hope he doesn't get into a management position, but in a coaching position I would love him. He's a fantastic basketball mind in terms of on-court play.

I almost cried when I heard that Kobe was going to retire after this season. For as much flak as he's getting right now for his poor play, and in general for the last few years, he's one of the greatest of all time. He's the reason I started watching basketball. I'm not old enough to have watched Gretzky, Mario, MJ, Magic, Montana, Rice, etc, but I've been watching Kobe since the start of his career. Sports in general won't be the same without the Mamba

When you have two kids with different ideas on how to build a team, things will never go well. I just don't see the Buss family ever selling the team, it's their fathers legacy and to some part Jim and Jeanie's too.

After the St. Louis Rams dropped their fourth consecutive game in 31-7 blowout fashion to the Cincinnati Bengals, coach Jeff Fisher made it clear their effort should not be in question.

"Anyone implies that it's an effort issue, they can kiss my ass," Fisher said. "There's no effort problems on this team. That's what happens when teams lose four in a row is people say it's effort. Come to practice, watch this team play, and ask any other opponent or opposing coach. It's not an effort issue right now.

Yep, that will shut them up Jeff.

"I've lost four in a row, so no," Fisher said. "That's not acceptable, but we're going to keep working at it. We've got to get more production on offense."

That all on you and your outdated offensive program.
