To add some smoke back to the Florida situation it seems Toronto is pretty interested in Bobrosvsky. So perhaps if he makes it to UFA Toronto might be willing to give him that retirement contract, So maybe Florida will circle back around after FA if they can't find anything they like.

I hope this is a big wake-up call for Jets management to avoid drafting anyone associated with the men's national development team in the States. Not all the Americans. Just the ones that are in that cesspool of a program.

there isn't conflicting reports, cj said that days ago, if you listen today he clearly thinks his name is out there being shopped, plus dreger knows way more about the jets then he does

Doesn't help that they made a certain visit to a high profile character in the US after their Olympic win and the fans didn't react to kindly to that. Apparently in Ottawa it even made it to the locker room where there was a rift between Brady and some of his teammates over it.

They certainly have the pieces now to make a splash and it's likely they move them for help now. Apparently they tried for Robertson but he won't sign long term with them.

Oh it's 100% the reason. I'd imagine Matthews is likely next on the list but he's probably waiting it out until next year to be moved.

No reports of Caufield or Hutson wanting out of Montreal. Pretty much any American player with a future in the NHL has had some time with the US NTDP, either through junior, World Championships, etc. Kyle Connor didn't go on the WH trip, fair enough, but there was nothing before the Olympics to suggest that Hellebuyck wanted out. We've been successful with Americans like Buff, Wheeler, no smoke around Samberg, etc. I don't know if this is a Canada specific thing.

Yeah certainly seems like a pretty likely destination for him. No trade protection, lots of assets to spend, they won't want to take a step back and draft a bunch of maybe players for 3 years down the road.
