Startlingly small. We don't even know if he'll be healthy for the start of the season, to be honest, and if he is, he'll be our 6/7th defenceman, being paid too much for that role. We'd be happy to let him go, I think.

Probably a lot of Flames fans will say you can have him cheap.

However, there are some questions just how healthy he will be at the start of camp despite the GM saying he expects him to be ready. So that might scare a few teams off in terms of acquiring him.

If we were, it'd probably be Oshie. I can't see us going for Shattenkirk since we acquired Hamilton. Though, a Giodano - Hamilton and Brodie - Shattenkirk top 4 would be quite a sight.

It's obvious that Frolik will play in the right wing. I believe that the first line will be the same as at the end of this year, but will Bennett play center or left wing? I think it's better to use him as a center already, because that's where we want him to play in future, too. My combinations would be:

Gaudreau - Monahan - Hudler
Colborne - Bennett - Frolik
Bouma - Backlund - Jones
Ferland - Stajan - Jooris
+ Granlund, Raymond, Bollig, Poirier, Arnold, Shore...

Giordano - Brodie
Russell - Hamilton
Engelland - Wideman
+ Morrison, Wotherspoon...

It's maybe one legit TOP6-forward shy (Colborne's too high), but center depth is great, as well is defence.

My guesses:

- Giordano 5-year deal, 37,5 M$ (8,5-8,5-7,5-6,5-6,5, AVV 7,5 M$).
- Bouma 3-year deal, 7,5 M$ (AAV 2,5 M$).
- Ferland 2-year deal 2 M$ (AAV 1 M$).
- Jooris 2-year deal 2 M$ (AAV 1 M$).
- Schelmko 1-year deal 0,9 M$.
