Gerald hissing at Sheila was hilarious. Not understanding the hate that this episode is getting, but I suppose some people want every episode to be as funny as possible.

Pretty sure almost all people want that for this comedy show. Including Matt and Trey.

I think that if Matt and Trey wanted the show to be as funny as possible, they would probably be writing more one-off episodes, like how the show was traditionally done. By using these season-long arcs, there aren't as many big laughs to be had, because many of the episodes have to act as plot-movers, rather than just the traditional, ridiculous hilarity that a one-off episode could be.

I'm not complaining, because I'm still thoroughly enjoying the show, as Matt and Trey are finding a way to make the show relevant to current events, give the season continuity, and still make it pretty funny. I'm just saying that the continuity has come at the expense of some of the hilarity in some cases, which people around here appear to be upset about.

I really hope Cartman comes back with a vengeance. This is the person that tricked a child into eating their own parents. The "women are funny. Get over it!" thing is great, but every episode it feels like old Cartman is lurking under the surface.

Member when South Park had that Lord of the Rings episode and everyone thought it was one of the best episodes of the series?

Yeah I miss episodes like that, where you're watching kind of an adventure of them being kids instead of this political overshadowing that the show has become.

With that being said, I actually laughed more at this episode than the previous two.

Episodes like that cannot exist at the same quality today that they did back then. This is a different world than it was even three years ago. Kudos to Matt and Trey for finding a way to keep South Park fresh and original after 20 years.

I think that's the whole premise of the season... at some point the real Cartman is going to emerge and it's likely to be incredible.

I think based on some of the reactions in this thread regarding going back to the old format, maybe that's what Matt and Trey are trying to evoke with the member berries plot. I think they want to do something to mock how much some people don't like change.

The difference is Trey and Matt have kids now: and they gave to wrestle with the fact that not only are their kids growing up in a world completely different from the one they grew up in, but on which they don't understand.

I was wondering when they'd hit the Billy Bush tapes. My gut is telling me this will one of their more controversial episodes, and that's saying something.

That was ****ing awesome. Garrison, Butters, Randy AND Cartman having big roles? Seems like it's been a while since that happened.

The Danish commercial was absolutely hysterical. Their head movements

Also loved Garrison's panicked grammar lesson (also lol at Butters: "Bouncy?")

My only quibble is that I don't want this season to turn into celeb-bashing. The JJ Abrams stuff is funny, but building a whole season around it may not be. The member berries is fun, though.

All in all, probably the best episode of the season. Excited for another new episode next week.

The Star Wars reference with regards to the trolls logging on to hit Denmark was awesome. Definitely seemed solid top to bottom.
