Coulda swore I left a comment on the episode after I saw it. Must've been my imagination. :dunno:

"Little Red Riding Kyle"

Good stuff, it'll be interesting to see where they take this next week.

I'm not exactly stoked it appears they're carrying on with the format of last season. I mean a part of me really loves it, at least loved one season.....but South Park could be an escape of social commentary, while still subtly referencing it.
2 full seasons of straight down the plate social commentary would be just too much imo.

'member berries callbacks could save it though, ****in brilliant:laugh:

What happened at the end? My DVR cut off the end of the episode where Gerald walked into his office.

I'm assuming it's Gerald that's the troll?

Yep, it shows him log in and start typing with a sinister smile on his face as he drinks his wine lol.
I can already see Kyle being thrown under the bus for this. The school will probably track the IP and see it comes from Kyle's house or something.

Interesting... Is it possible it was something to lead us down that path, but really Gerald is just on Yelp again?

Is this South Park, or Mr. Robot

I liked the callback of the Giant ****** and Turd Sandwich.....even Stan calling it out, like "really, we're doing this again?"

Yeah, that was nice.

Liked the "And now we stand, or sit or take a knee..." part before the new national anthem. Was not prepared for it but was waiting for some fun new lyric instead.

^Yeah I was expecting that Kaepernick anthem from the teaser posted earlier. Still, it was funny watching everyone not sure what to do.

Also that opening scene, where everyone's just there to watch Nichole during the anthem and then they all leave.

"and by saving it, JJ made the anthem irrelevant"

I thought the episode was too busy. It seemed like Matt and Trey took the comment of "The writers should have plenty of material this season" and tried to stick it into the first episode. Maybe my opinion of it will improve as we get deeper into the season, but I agree with a post upthread that after the first 10 minutes, the episode kinda got a little boring.

There were so many things going on in this episode.

I mean it was funny, but it was so packed with several laugh points. I didn't really get to hone in on one.

I dunno.

I was kinda disappointed with the first episode. They crammed in too much.

I still had a couple good laughs, but it was too much in too short a timeframe.

That first episode was pretty crappy. Dont think I laughed once.

I've seen some of the teasers though, they're actually hilarious.
Personally I preferred the single episodes instead of the story based season but the show is so good it doesn't really matter how they do it.
I think that and that its full of more or as many references than actual jokes. References to pop culture as well as self-references, but theres little payoff.

Maybe next week.

I have a feeling this is going to be one of those seasons where we really, really wished it was longer (more so than others) because I think they're going to try cramming a lot of different topics into episodes and tying everything together so it's all just jam packed like last night's episode.
