I'm ready to deliver my verdict on Wo Long as a Nioh hater now playing a decent amount of the demo:

These games still are not good.

This game is way better than any of the Nioh games and I like it's sekiro influence. But the enemies as always are horrible. They don't hit as hard as the Nioh games which is good, but the problem of attack animations remains. They just attack way too quickly to make attempting any type of reading of their movements worth it. Just spam magic or attacks, and then run away. Rinse and repeat.

Oh yeah and thankfully they got rid of ki pulse that was so horrible.

I almost forgot about the worst thing they didn't change. The diablo style loot. Thankfully it looks like the drops are actually different in this game instead of 99.9% of equipment drops being clutter.

So I got to the final boss, there's no way I'm going to beat it. These games seriously suck so bad. I can't believe this is the same developer that made ninja gaiden.

Absolutely not. I have one and I only play PS4 games on it. This virtual boy level dud of a console.

Both new systems are duds then.

The amount of PS5/Series-only games is pathetically small for systems that'll be two years old in a few months.

Tell me you don't own any PS5 games without saying you don't own any PS5 games (more than one).

It's not even that ps5 games look that good. If Mortal Kombat 11 never came out on PS4 and you slapped it on ps5 it would fit right in with demons souls or horizon forbidden west.

It's the load times. Just playing ashen this game is only like 10 GB in size and the load times are so awful. Port it to ps5 and it would be non-existent.

Say you're a twat without saying "I'm a twat"
But I'm right.

Not all PS4 games work on PS5. This is why I don't play Warzone on PS5.

If I was a console only gamer the jump from 30 to 60 FPS in most games would be worth the price of the console alone. Then factor in the SSD and improved controller, its a no brainer.

I've been happy with all 3 of the next gen consoles, more great games would be great, but as a mid 40's dad/husband/gamer, I still have plenty of games to use up what limited gaming hours I have per week, on top of the backlog from previous gens and stuff on gamepass

After you get used to something like that it can at times be hard to go back, but until you do it's not really an issue.

You're right, there are so many high quality PS5/Series only games after 22 months, there is not enough time for anyone to play them all (except for you, of course)

I was bored and looked at the list of PS5/Series exclusive games and it's even shorter than I thought. Here we go

Returnal
Ratchet and Clank
The Medium
Deathloop
Astro's Playroom
Demon Souls
Yuffie DLC for FF7
The Last of Us Part 1
Ghostwire: Tokyo

Let me know if I missed anything, I even added a few remakes, a pack in game, and a five hour DLC to help pad the list.

They are basically PS4 Super Pro and Xbox One XX at this time, all you get is cleaner, more polished and better running games that you can still play on the older systems. So to answer that poster's question awhile back before it got derailed, I wouldn't put too much effort into finding a system right now.

Things definitely run smoother and look better on PS5, but I would tend to agree. Seems like more of a nice to have right now, by no means is it a need to have!

I have a PS5 and I would agree with the sentiment that it really doesn't feel like a new generation of consoles. I only got a PS5 because my launch PS4 was ready to die...so why not when one came available. But the lack of games really is staggering,

I think a lot of that has to do with Jim Ryan's poor leadership and laughably bad messaging. The guy absolutely insisted that PlayStation "believed in generations" then turned around and forced cross-gen on their biggest console exclusives. That said, the games that are PS5-only have truly looked exceptional like Ratchet, Returnal and especially Demon's Souls. I got my PS5 at launch and haven't regretted it a single day.
