If a team sucks and doesn't get wins, why watch? To think that fighting is more important than winning...

I think the bigger problem is that he isn't wrong. There is a reason he has a following

Doesn't mean he speaks for most fans or why most people watch hockey.

Hell, Avs won the cup and they only really had one goon that fought throughout the year (didn't play every game either) and that was MacDermid. He had only 6 fights and played 7.5 minutes on average per game. And yet they are some of the most exciting hockey people has ever seen, especially in a long while. But you know, people watch for fights and having tough, hitting lines... oh wait...

Lots of empty seats last season even with MacEwen providing NRG every night.

Fights will entertain the die hards who still go to the games even when the team sucks, but that's all.

And that's kind of it. If there are so many empty seats and it continues throughout the season, you have to think Dave Scott will start realizing the money loss from previous years and make changes to get butts back in seats. With MacEwen doing his fights, it didn't bring in anyone new and didn't bring more people back. I expect less people this year overall than last year, and consistently fewer people overall from game to game.

Frost: 7 goals and 23 points in 77 career NHL games
Deslauriers: 8 goals and 13 points in 81 2021-22 NHL games
