Crosby:
1st contract - 17.30%
2nd contract - 14.50%

Malkin:
1st contract - 15.34%
2nd contract - 14.77%

Mackinnon:
1st contract - 8.63%
2nd contract - 15.27%

Matthews:
1st contract - 14.64%
2nd contract - 15.87%

Bergeron was around 10% most of his post ELC contracts but he never had the production like those guys to demand that type of money. Plus most of his most offensively productive seasons came when he was in his 30’s.
That guy never misses an opportunity to prove he doesn't have a brain.

It was not even that Fletcher cleaned house, trading away or releasing prospects to get what he wanted. The team’s prospects were to left to languish, with very little attention to their development, or thoughts of how they could best serve the team.
Under Fletcher’s stewardship, most prospects were left to dangle in limbo, with no path to the NHL club, essentially used as a space holder, rather than organizational depth or future development.

Get ready for the great Fletch defense!

Pittsburgh won their first cup when Malkin was on his ELC but Crosby was on his big contract by that point. Both were on big contracts when they won their second & third cups. MacKinnon did win while on his cheaper first contract though.
MacKinnon also signed his 6.3 contract after his ELC, when his career high was 63 points in his rookie season. It was his third year of that contract before he had a PPG+ season. He took less because he wasn't (really) worth more at the time.
