idk if this is the right thread, but I have enjoyed the Locked on Flyers Podcast with Rachel Donner and Russ Cohen is pretty good. They actually do their homework and know the insides and outs of the prospects unlike the BSH podcast (sans Charlie)
I played a couple years of softball with Russ! Nice guy.

I tried to give the BSH podcast a whirl while I made breakfast for the family, but their need to drop F-bomb adjectives like middle schoolers just discovering the word is incompatible with little kids wandering around. It’s not that the word offends me, but they’ll learn in their own time. It just doesn’t add anything to the conversation. Plus, “f$&@!%# Fletcher” is implied simply by saying “Fletcher.” Unnecessary on many levels.

Russ is great. Super level headed and loves talking about prospects. Rachel is literally just as good, also follows the prospects in depth and is a great front host.

I am a huge fan of Snow the Goalie - but over the last few months I have been so enraged with this team - I wanted something more daily to listen to that covers the Flyers specifically (STG is like once a week). Locked on Flyers fills that void. 3 episodes in the summer, 5 during the season. It's really unfortunate that WIP never covers hockey.

Sometimes I listen to BSH, sometimes I even enjoy it. Charlie saves the show, but he's not always on the pod. Some episodes are certainly better than others...

Before I moved to Italy I used to listen to "Hockey Central" on sportsnet or whatever, it was available on the podcast app. Everyday I listened to that show, but I just found out recently they replaced it with the Jeff Marek show - who I really like (also love reading/listening to 32TP) but it's not the same.

As usual, this prick is being dishonest and pretending he doesn't know what people meant.

The point was that we were willing to accept growing pains with the youth during Hextall years where we were rebuilding and not competing anyways, so long as they were playing, getting experience, and improving. That has nothing to do with hating horrible vets on the roster or being happy the team was losing.

When your point revolves around the phrase "people on social media," you probably don't have much of a point. I can only speak for myself, but I could absolutely watch a majority of tanking games, with prospects and upside signings, if I bought into the vision of the team. If you could see the talent, and the team showed you signs of modern hockey stylings. The entire global sports market is based around selling hope; fans don't need a 5 course meal of it, but they do need a snack.

He's kidding himself if he thinks watching these hopeless Flyers stink is the same as tuning in to watch the Jack Hughes Show on the Devils. Besides, if in 4 years top prospects show no signs of progress, then it's probably not much of a rebuild.

Did we not just watch a subculture launch on the Process Sixers?

Those games were fun because the team played HARD and you got invested in player development. There is a world of difference between an old bad team and one that you know is too young but has a path forward. Don’t let the curmudgeons dominate the conversation because they’re usually louder.

In case anyone was fooled into thinking the media was going to be any better now that they criticized Fletcher for the first time, they’ve all gone out of their way to make sure we know that isn’t the case.

Charlie is still being a dishonest cockroach, ASF and Myrtetus both had that DiMarco c*** on their little podcast things where they all talked out of their asses for an hour, and Meltzer is still Meltzer.

The quality of reporting matches the quality of the team.

I think there’s truths laced in there when it comes to the authentics. Like those people probably only have patience for like a year or so especially now a days regardless. But Hextall did get some patience for years until people stopped believing in what he was doing & rightfully so.

Exactly. And those are largely the same people that still won't be happy when they are winning because they didn't win a Cup.

There are people walking around saying 2010 wasn't a successful season. Those people should be ignored at every possible turn.

Not to mention the inherent randomness of hockey means no NHL team is approaching the 10-20 win nadir of the worst NBA teams. God awful hockey teams find a way to get 25-35 wins, with closer games due to a lower event style, and the league prioritizes fake parity to boot. Of the major sports (I'll exclude football because of the # of games), I'm not sure there's a more watchable rebuilding product than hockey.

One thing I will say about ASF, Mytetus, and Charlie is that regardless of what theyre saying...they do have decent radio/pod voices to listen to. Meltzer and Dimarco I have a really hard time even following what theyre saying because they just dont have that skillset. Before the "everyone can have a podcast" days...not just anyone could just be on the radio... you had to have the training and talent bc your voice/how you talk does matter. Mytetus seems the most professional at it.

I think Charlie is decent when he does his breakdown pieces...but he can def come off as preachy when he talks about fans opinions. I also hate how he thinks hes got this tremendous musical taste that he constantly tweets about. Like dude you listen to pop punk...which cool fine, but thats hardly the top shelf of the music world.
