Bob Clarke definitely hated them and we all know where he stands in the organization.

He kept drafting them though, but he did often run into trouble after that. What he didn’t like were the older veteran Europeans (this applied to Russians and Czechs - but not Slovaks bc we had a few of them) who he felt essentially wanted to get paid for missing the World Championships.
