Whether I agree with this or not depends on whether you like Mike Emrick or not.Peter Drury is the Mike Emrick of Premier League commentators.
I really hope you don’t like himWhether I agree with this or not depends on whether you like Mike Emrick or not.
I think we are in agreement.I really hope you don’t like him
I don't.Whether I agree with this or not depends on whether you like Mike Emrick or not.
Drury doesn’t have Doc’s dopey jokes but he’s overly dramatic and he screams any time someone directs a ball in the general vicinity of the goal. And by “general vicinity” I mean anywhere towards the stands at the end of the field.I don't.
Drury has the same annoying commentating style. Screaming around, making up words.
The French league is basically just there for PSG to get a trophy.
It's all about that Messi World Cup storylineMessi was not even the best player in Ligue 1 in 2022-23... (Mbappe was really on same team)
and wins Ballon D'Or.
10th in goals
3rd in goal contributions

Much like hockey awards, it's 100% narrative.
It's sad. It does nothing but devalue the awards and wipe out all the prestige. It did not used to be though... but gone a LOT more that way in the last 10 years.

It was a very weak penalty call. There would be three or four penalties from corners in every game if that was the standard going forward. This penalty call against United might have broken the sport for me. What a disgrace
I’ve already blocked it out. Between United and the Flyers I’ve become numbIt was a very weak penalty call. There would be three or four penalties from corners in every game if that was the standard going forward.
Just be glad it's not as bad a rugby where the TMO thinks he's the star of the World Cup Final.
2034 in Saudi Arabia.
Sport washing in full effect.
You know it is f***ed when no other country evens puts a bid in.Fifa taking that bag all the way to the bank
Unreal. I’m going off the top of my head but hasn’t he said he wants to play for Madrid at some point? They would be getting him going right into his primeCareer goals per game (100+ goals) in "big 5" European leagues post WW2 (players with over 0.75):

Just silly. 23 years old too... probably ~2 years away from real "prime" and ~4 from his absolute peak.

Claudio was such a good player. That would be pretty cool for Gio to make that move. Looks like he is starting today. I am off work and can watch the match so I’m excited. It has been heavily rumoured! But hopefully sticks around City for a few more years... especially with his Dad's history with the club, and Man City being one of his fave teams growing up.
Really hope Gio Reyna keeps improving and City sign him aha, so can add another high quality Man City fan to the team aha.
