I think it's the MBS connection. I don't think he's linked with any other teams. Not in the PL anyway.
Abu Dhabi owns City and Sheffield United(just got promoted again) is owned by a Saudi royal family member too. No one like City. Sheffield United will probably be relegated again.
Nobody (except Sunderland) hated them before they were bought by the beheaders. Most people with sense were shocked that the morons with the English FA and the government would allow another foreign country with a nasty regime to buy into the Premier League after the cheats at City who, by the way, are facing over 100 infractions based on their illegal financing.

Meanwhile Everton has one infraction and they're already facing a 12 point penalty. Must have been reallt clear cut to just basically conclude the investigation so fast. I'm sure it has nothing to do with their money/ownership group vs City's.

It's mostly the Saudi thing. There's also the fact that their supporter group - and I hate to generalize here, but the shoe typically fits - tend to be on tjr English version of red-necky.
Obviously every fanbase has their group, but the ratio seems to be much higher in theirs.

Same thing is happening in gaming.
Pretty much all of CS is slowly being bought up by the Saudis, including the main tournament organizer (who owns 99% of the calendar), orgs, players/coaches/analysts, and so on.

Nope, they already won.
Everything and everyone is being bought. It’s basically at the point where the only way to not interact with them or something they own is to avoid competitive CS completely.And it’s happening with other games too. DOTA, FIFA, fighting games, and even one of the OG tournament organizers for Halo/CoD.
And it’s a group directly run by the crown Prince.
Pretty much anything not owned by them is owned by China, which isn’t much better.
