It's funny that Brenden Aaronson is playing for Union again. Full circle.

Playing against his brother this year too.

I remember Wenger being not particularly happy about the press photos that showed Wilshere smoking. But I don't remember Wilshere known for a bad attitude while at Arsenal. Always seemed like professional and a likeable guy to me. Did some charity work too. He's a youth coach now for the team actually and he seems really invested which is nice to see.

Just going off what housemate said (cant imagine him lying knowing him), and there was more besides that going all the way up to ~2014-15 or so from what housemate said (Wilshere was ofc still back in hometown at times) and then the amount of stuff in the media on him too... he had a few incidents outside just drinking and smoking tbf.

Couple of drunken fights... and then a few fights/scuffles on the pitch too. Always had a bit of a temper issue and got him in trouble at times.

Ridiculous the man only scored 20 goals in his entire career given ability.

It does seem that the end of his career humbled him a bit going off interviews in later years once left Arsenal. So maybe matured quite a bit.

Don't get me wrong, I believe you. He did have a bit of an attitude on the pitch, but I always liked that about him. He had personality and I saw him as a future captain. Wenger did too, even called him future England captain I believe.

It is what it is. I still believe that injuries are what killed his career. Because if there was one manager that could straighten out a young player, it's Wenger. He saved Tony Adams career after all.

Wenger is probably my favourite manager ever...

well, at least top 3 alongside Guardiola and Kevin Keegan (what a football philosophy, massively underrated player as well) aha.

I have to be honest, I can't stand Guardiola.

But obviously I can see why you like him.

I just love attacking football, loved his style of play when he was at Barca and Bayern too.

Also a big Klopp fan for the same reason. Football is entertainment...

used to tune in to MOTD all the time back in early to mid 2000s just to watch Wenger's teams.

I love his style of play and hate it at the same time if that makes sense. It's innovative and obviously he's one of the smartest people in football right now. But when I watch City everything feels so rehearsed. It's the same way with Arsenal and Arteta right now. It's great when you win and dominate, but it can also be very frustrating to watch. I guess I just want more chaos lol, more end to end football.

That's why I haven't fully made up my mind about Arteta yet. He's a very smart manager too, but he's also a micro-managing maniac lol.

The team you could make right now using only u-25 Manchester natives is pretty ridiculous.

Marcus Rashford
Phil Foden
Mason Greenwood
Cole Palmer
Rico Lewis
Angel Gomes (London born, Manchester raised)
Brandon Williams
James McAtee
Tosin Adarabioyo
Kobbie Mainoo
Toomy Doyle
Taylor Harwood-Bellis
CJ Egan-Riley
Axel Tuanzebe

probably missing a couple as well... just need a goalie ahaha.

For some reason Manchester has really never produced many goalies despite multiple world class players in every single other position. Kasper Schmeichel is the best goalie the city has ever produced really! (lived in the city for 12 years between age 5 and 18) Joe Corrigan is (I think) the only top end goalie the city has ever produced "from birth" and he retired in 1984 aha.

The 55-year-old’s admission that he failed to send Taylor to the pitchside screen to review a clear error in Chelsea’s stormy 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last season “because he is a mate” has only done harm to those he called colleagues until leaving the PGMOL in July.

“I think I didn’t want to send him up because I didn’t want any more grief than he already had,” said Dean.

Holy shit soccer broadcasters/analysts are just as bad as hockey guys.

Apparently everything comes down to effort, intensity, and leadership.
