Its been a while since i had my referee license, but i believe if a member of each team encroaches, the penalty is retaken regardless of result. The rules change depending on who encroaches and the result of the goal, though.

I was a rec referee in the later 80’s/early 90’s as a teenager. My memory doesn’t go back that far!

I did high school games for a little while in the early 2000s, but never went passed that. didnt care enough to keep up with it. (or for running, if im being honest).

Hopefully our pets heads stop falling off at some point.

Leading scorer, starting keeper (who was easily their best player in the first leg), and a few other key guys were out for this game, but hopefully they can come back before that one.

Thanks for posting that. I’m kind of in the gray area of this though. The Chelsea player clearly was the first to go in the box. The Dortmund player was just reacting in a defensive nature to “mark his man” . Maybe I’m over analyzing it but it still feels like Dortmund got screwed.

Then again, they were both in the box prior to the kick so letter of the law says another shot
