Yeah, I'll watch regardless. Olympics hockey, bobsleigh/skeleton/luge, and short-track speedskating are all must watches for me, so the lack of NHLers isn't going to change the first.

I always keep tabs on the winter games, just because Canada actually does well compared to the Summer ones.

Hockey is another story. I might watch the gold medal game; but I'm really not in favour of cheering on a bunch of guys who are AHL caliber.

I also like to watch the opening ceremonies just for the bizarre factor with all the dances and other choreographed stuff they do.

...plus living in a country that has just aired a 3 days non-stop full coverage of all Ola Einar Bjørndahlen's victories at the biathlon world cup (all 96 of them) on the state tv, it's kinda difficult to avoid following the olympics.

or they only care when its true best on best and not " best of who is available", you know like the world championships.

If they had a tournament of " steves" would I care who won ? probably not, but as it is with anything YMMV. the fact that canadian steves were bested by american steves says something, but I'm not really sure I care what. But I guess blind nationalism has its place, too.
