Weegar Ekblad has been one of the best pairings in the NHL for 2 years now. No need to break that up. Only reason that should change is if the bottom pairing is a liability and we need to split up the top pairing to balance things out

Chiarot is not very good. Not sure why we’d want 25 minutes a game of that

TWO out of 16 writers?? i know, they're just writers and half of 'em are probably morons but still, sobering.

Two out of sixteen writers picking us to win the whole thing! That is higher than I expected considering the bloodbath that is the Eastern conference.

That’s my first reaction too. We are inexperienced.

But then I thought about last year’s Tampa series. That left a hugely bitter taste for this team and most are back. They remember. And there’s G and Chiarot who also remember and are chasing the cup. And Reino who’s gotta be pumped as hell.

That gives me hope, and I believe we’re going to the SCF!

Anytime I've been part of picking a team for coaching hockey, I'm a big believer that you make it from your blue line out both ways. I like it when the defense is the strongest point of your team, they play an important role in both ends of the ice. The team with the best defense usually wins in my opinion.

On paper this team is totally capable of winning a cup, no doubt about that in my mind. It's just so hard to get past this team's history. We've largely been able to do that this year with all of the franchise records, just hope it can continue.

I don’t know. Recent cup winning goalies include Jordan Binnington, Braden Holtby, Matt Murray/Marc-Andre Fleury, Corey Crawford, etc

Gudas, Hornqvist, Luostarinen, Duclair, Vehaeghe, Forsling, Lomberg, Marchment, Montour, Bennet, Knight

This year:
Reinhart, Lundell, Thornton, Chiarot, Giroux

Zito turned over the whole roster practically. That's why the 'Panthers don't have the caps playoff experience' narrative is kinda bogus. This team somehow has 600 something games of playoff experience on it to Washington's 1100 despite never making the playoffs.

I came across a pic of Barkov in the Dig In hat on twitter and wanted to stop by and mention what a great gesture that is.

For those unaware, Tripp recently stepped away from the team due to a drinking problem. Barkov has always struck me as a classy guy, and this just reinforces that in my mind.



Also, I hope you guys f***ing grease the Capitals. I'll never get tired of seeing those bums lose. I'll be pulling for y'all until we meet up in the ECF

Pure class and a completely underrated talent, The Panthers roll a similar to the Canes four lines deep, You see these Leafs and other fans blasting their 50 goal scorers and they don't realize guys like Barkov and Aho play 4-6 minutes less per game (both are on the #pk unit) and the style of play of a deep team won't allow one guy to put up insane points.
