The first 20 games are important in the short sprint season. I just hope we win a large % of them games in the first 5 weeks.
When they traded Max Domi for Josh Anderson and signed him right away to a 7 year contract worth $5.5 million AAV, that reminded me of when Toronto signed David Clarkson to that 7 year contract worth $5.25 million.Might as well just give the cup to the Habs. They are apparently a juggernaut of a team. The mainboards have really become a joke. Hopefully the Leafs step up and play to their ceiling.
That’s exactly what I thought too. Let’s hope that works out same ways (meaning over paid for production not injury wise). When they traded Max Domi for Josh Anderson and signed him right away to a 7 year contract worth $5.5 million AAV, that reminded me of when Toronto signed David Clarkson to that 7 year contract worth $5.25 million.
Even if you do not include last season since Anderson only played 26 games due to injury and registered 1 goal and 3 assists, his best season was 2018-19 when he had 27 goals, 20 assists for 47 points in 82 games. So it's funny not many people did not call him overpaid and said the opposite of William Nylander's $6.9 million AAV, even though he previously had back to back seasons of 61 points, along with a 22 and 20 goal seasons before getting his new contract. That’s exactly what I thought too. Let’s hope that works out same ways Lol.

You do know that despite not winning a playoff round yet with Toronto that Nylander has better overall playoff stats compared to Anderson.Getting points in the regular season is nice. Playoffs is what counts. I would rather have Anderson over Nylander for those games.
Even though the David Clarkson signing was bad, at least Toronto did not give up any players along with a 3rd round pick in the 2020 draft to trade for Anderson and than sign him to a 7 year contract. If Anderson suddenly becomes injury prone and loses his game then it will be similar. Good teams take calculated risks. Domi wasn't leading the Habs anywhere.
He was referring to Anderson not living up to his contract and not getting a career ending injury the way Clarkson did.Why would you hope a player has a series of career ending injuries? What an odd thing to hope for. I hope he does well and goes on to have a long career.

Nylander: 5 Goals, 10 Assists, 15 Points in 25 playoff games.
Anderson: 3 Goals, 5 Assists, 8 Points in 21 playoff games.
The next time your going to compare Nylander's playoff stats to someone else look them up before making a statement like that.
I would add that some people on here like the @The CyNick will talk positive about any moves made by other GM's who is not named Kyle Dubas.Yep. Anderson hardly has been a key player anytime hes been in the postseason: folks have a tendency to overhyped players they likely haven't seen play very much

Yes Columbus made the second round just one time with Josh Anderson on their team, so I guess that means he's automatically better and will mean great success for Montreal.I know the stats. I would rather have Anderson. Results matter.

I was not a fan of the price Montreal paid to get Anderson and the contract he signed. What if Anderson helps them get to the conference finals?
You're using an absolute worst case scenario to compare the Anderson acquisition. Probably more likely it works out well.
Are you a big fan of Domi or just hating on a move because it's the Habs? If the latter, that's kinda sad.

I edited my post so it’s crystal clear what I meant.I think @The Spring Samauri has you on ignore which is why he did not respond to your comments, so hopefully that's something he can confirm.
You claim to be objective and yet I have not seen you ever mention any good moves Kyle Dubas has made.I credit positive moves regardless of team or GM. I try to be objective regardless of team. This thread seems to be centered on just trashing moves because it's the Habs. And worse, wishing ill will on players just because they are wearing blue, blanc et rouge. I dont think that's cool. If I misread the author's intent, then maybe the author should rephrase his post.
