why?Edmonton will be outed by the Hawks in the first round, they were cooling off at the end and the long break will have a negative benefit.
Oilers went 2-2 vs the CanucksCalgary and Vancouver both beat them in the season series. I wouldn’t be so quick to say the oilers would “wipe the floor”

Oilers rely too much on their special teams to make it deep. They don't call penalties in the playoffs like they do in the regular season.

People conflict the threshold for penalties getting higher with less penalties being called, while it just means that players commit more fauls. Is that why almost every team in last year's playoffs saw more PPTOI/GP in the playoffs than the regular season?
I keep seeing this comment come up, but the stats don't seem to agree with you.Oilers rely too much on their special teams to make it deep. They don't call penalties in the playoffs like they do in the regular season.
Do the Hawks have NHL goaltending?
I thought the Oilers had no depth? Judging off the opinions of Oilers fans in this thread, they have the most depth in the league.
Oilers logic: Draisaitl should win the Hart because we have no depth
More Oilers logic: We are gonna win the cup because we are the most stacked team in the league and we have an incredible amount of depth
At this point the franchise is only becoming a bigger parody of themselves
Give me one example of an Oilers fan saying either of those things.
this post and the one about the Ted Lindsay finalists. The one in the Ted Lindsay post is arguing that because the Oilers have no depth, Draisaitl should win and there are multiple posts inside this thread where people are listing off the forward depth that the Oilers have including one in particular comparing the 3rd and 4th lines of the oilers and blues.
?
You didn't give me an example of either of your statements. You were talking about the Hart. The Ted Lindsay goes to the best player. Oilers fans think Draisaitl should win it because we think he was the best player this year...
I'm sorry, but if there's anyone who's 'becoming a parody of themselves' it's you.
Oh perfect, well then perhaps you can give me a reason for why he was the best player.
I let out a hearty belly laugh every time I see this thread title. Just magnificent amounts of Hubris. It is stunning, and a bit frightening.

Draisaitl definitely proved he was better than people thought this year. There's also no doubt that having pp time with McDavid and having McDavid take many of the tough matchups helped his numbers though. But I thought Draisaitl was a product of McDavid, and now RNH and Yamamoto are products of Draisaitl, so are they products of McDavid also?

Since being moved to his own line on december 31st, which was Yamamoto's first game up.Draisaitl definitely proved he was better than people thought this year. There's also no doubt that having pp time with McDavid and having McDavid take many of the tough matchups helped his numbers though.
