2 superstars on a team with depth are more scary than a team with just good players. The blues have great goaltending and defense but they dont have players that can break a game open. You need the big boys when the playoffs come and the Avs young players are grown up and ready to take over as the next powerhouses of the west. David Perron on a hot streak doesint scare me.
This might be the most clueless post of the year. Think about what you just said...

Tarasenko isn't a game breaker? And it sounds like you're lecturing Blues fans as if we don't know what a championship team looks like and you, as an oilers fan, somehow does know...

Smart teams will contain Drai and McD and shut the Oilers down with ease in the playoffs.

Not impressed with the Oilers at all and they are not contenders.

If it is so easy to shut them down then how do you explain Draisaitl getting over 100 points already? Also, McDavid is not far behind. I guess since it is not the playoffs teams will just let them score.

What a moronic post.

You weren’t impressed with the Blues last year. When are you going to take the hint that what you do or do not think is impressive has no value?

The Blues forget about how they sucked half the season last year before they turned it around with their all Canadian team.

This is about the Oilers so try to keep on topic instead of fishing for Blues compliments.

This is not basketball where 1 or 2 good players will win you a championship.

What a moronic post.

there is argument that adding a bunch of players to a team does not yield immediate results. They need to buid team chemistry.

Also obviously the Oilers have some rather major injury issues that are ongoing, but everyone is starting to come back. Things are pointing towards the Oilers peaking in the playoffs. We just have to make it.

St. Lious yes. Dallas maybe, Colorado no way.

Las Vegas would be the only other serious team other than the Blues. Colorado chokes in the playoffs and Dallas is a question mark

So it takes 2 playoffs without the Cup nowadays to be considered "choker"?

Well, it's a thread about the Oilers being favorites in the West, the Conference the Blues are currently leading coming off a Cup win. I know you've been dead wrong hating on the Blues for going on a year now, but they are still relevant to the conversation. As is Dallas/Vegas/Colorado/etc.

If Edmonton plays the Blues in the playoffs I hope they beat them.

I doubt they will but I sure hope they do.

I'd like to see them go far for my own selfish reasons... I want different west coast teams every year so I can see players I don't get to watch much...

I think the oilers have a shot, but I wouldn't bet my money on it... I have no idea how this playoffs will go in the east and the west seems even more of a toss up.

I just don't see it.

They don't have the depth, they play in a weak division, and also won a ton of points from weak Metro teams in the east too.

I don't hate the Blues but they did fluke their way to a Cup and barely got by Winnipeg ,Dallas and Boston.

Good luck doing that twice.
If only they could be as dominant as Winnipeg during their cup run.
