I had an advertising class with Duncan Mcdonald at Algonquin and our class saw the logo before it was released to the public. There were alot of laughs and confused faces in the room. But he said the team and league is supposed to be taken lightly so that's cool.
Hey, you never know maybe they'll actually do well lol. But as someone else said, you get out on a nice day with some buddies or the GF and you drink drink drink....

Go Fat Cats!

To Clarify this.. I work with the Fat Cats and we are currently under negotiations with the City of Ottawa about the beer in the stands. at this point in time we do not have a liquor license for beer in the stands but are working hard to get that fixed.

So...the ONLY reason to go...and you cant do it. Hmmm.

Great way to make first impressions. Even if they do get the license, people wont forget their first weekend where you couldnt have a damn beer.

The team doesn't really control when they get licensed though. And I believe you could buy beer and drink it on the concourse. And if the only reason to go to a sporting event is to drink beer, wouldn't be hella cheaper to just drink at home?

Wasn't the only problem by the sounds of it. They pulled in over 3,700 paid, but because there were so many people and not enough ticket checkers, they through open the doors and let a few hundred in for free.

3700? That's encouraging, hopefully it keeps up. I hope to go to a game or 2 when I come home at some point in the summer

It would. But the entire restauraunt and bar industry kinda shows that people like to drink out of their home.

And I know they arent in full control of the license, but do you really think that matters to people?

What a gorgeous day for some ball.

Cats won the first one 5 (maybe 6?) to 1 but lost Game Two 12-11.

FYI, I did have to drink all of my beers in the concourse, which actually wasn't all that bad to get out of the sun for a few minutes and enjoy a cool beer. You can drink on the grassy area at the end of the stands, and the girl at the cash said they hope to have their license by next weekend.

These guys are really putting a lot of effort into making these games an event that people want to come to, and it shows.

I hate to be that guy (and it was on the 3rd page) but:

My buddy pitches for them, got out to the doubleheader against Mississauga a few weekends ago, good fun, forsure. I hope to get out to a couple more games.

And I'm pretty sure they have their liquor license for the stands now, so BOUNUS!

i haven't been yet, but I'm looking forward to going to a game when I'm back in Canada this summer.
My old man has been and enjoyed, said the level was for the most part comparable to Can-Am league.

haha IBL is dope. If you like baseball you'll really enjoy it but people don't always love baseball. Probly a coin toss if it stays or goes. I've been in Barrie and had an awesome time.

Our record is now 4-10..... 6 game losing streak, but some players from US College are coming back. Maybe that'll give us some confidence.

Our main problem is pitching... we have a league worst 6.28 ERA. Our batting is the second-best in the league, though. Top 2 batting averages in the IBL are Ottawa players.

On a high note, our average attendance for this year out at the Ballpark, is 2,839. Some of the best numbers that we've seen here since the Lynx in the Mid-to-Late 90's. Good sign that baseball is alive and well here.
