After that game, I think it's okay to sit Blais or Vesey. Blais in particular had a really bad game. This game, the Rangers were far more tested than they should have been and they looked very mediocre for big chunks of the game.

Kakko and Laffy continue to show flashes at times, but they need to play a full 60 with speed and energy. They neuter Zibanejad when they don't move their leg

They should be with Trocheck at C instead . It would seem like the best fit as either a 2nd line and also as a unit on PP 2 with maybe the first 30-40 seconds as the opening unit on PP if for nothing else to burn out the best defenders and then our real first unit would face lesser Dmen ....since we are middle of the pack in PP %age what can it hurt to try for few times ?

Not sure how GG and the rest of the brain trust were watching that and happy with Goodrow and or Vesey.

GG loves him some Goody!
I think he's a useful player, but he's playing out of position. He's a fourth liner. That is where he's most effective.

Somehow, nestled in between two Hockey Hall of Farmers , A backup Netminder from Bulgaria who will never even really be so much as a blip in NHL history radar has become one of the most hated netminders all time from a NYR fan base standpoint. And he brought it on himself.


Last nights game was the ultimate suckers bet. Rangers coming off back to back wins. They head to the barn of the reigning Stanley Cup Champs walking tall. The Avs all sorts of banged up. Perfect letdown game. But they pulled it off.


Big Props to Braden Schneider. The offense wasn’t expected for a player getting what 15 mins a night or so? 4 Goals on the Season now Is 2nd among NYR defenseman. He is playing physical but not overly physical. Still unsure where his ceiling is, but at this trajectory he’s pushing the envelope to be more then a 3rd pairing defenseman. Unfortunately for Braden he is buried by a Norris winner, and a Captain Ahead of him on the depth chart. These are all good problems. I feel like Schneider is the guy the board talk about the least yet is among the best young players on the squad.

Igor was on another level last night. Made some real tremendous saves and he did it against his former teammate who made it a point to over-celebrate his victory in the prior game And rub it in Igors face. Hoping this is the confidence boost to get him back into the Vezina category.

Zbad and the kids returned to reality last night. Guess they were due. Have a feeling we will see some changes to the top line next game. Maybe #20 back up top.

I’m not a Vesey hater, but I hate the way Gallant uses the player. For the love of God please never put him back in the top 6. With that said, yes…He does some boneheaded things with and without the puck in the offensive zone. He is sound defensively, and I think the Rangers are trying to turn him into that overly defensively sound player.

That would cost about 12 bucks here in Canada these days or more.....the fast food joints have gone crazy on pricing . A Dbl BWhopper /cheese upsize the fries does sound delicious though...it has been a couple of years for sure . I remember as a 10 yr old listening to Rangers on the radio in the early 70's and the BK commercials.....and just dreaming about it ....and at that point we never even had a McDonalds here .....the only hamburger we would see came from the old Holstein cow hanging up bleeding out behind the barn ...before being ground into hamburger and frozen......the good old days LOL.....that was when hamburgers were hamburgers...

I never liked the kid. All the Bobby Orr comparison bullshit. He's one of the most overrated player I've ever seen in my life. And he's a typical modern day actor and pansy. I have a hard time liking most players in this era because most of them are exactly like Makar. They were never punished as kids by their parents, they're spoiled little shit actors on the ice and spoiled by advanced equipment. All you see now are Instagram and YouTube videos of these punks not being able to handle a clean body check and them swinging their sticks in retaliation or kicking players when they're down. None of these rats had to use soaking wet leather skates that weighed 2 pounds and heavy wooden sticks with barely any flex to them. They're all hot dogs. Hockey is barely hockey anymore. It's more a mix of lacrosse and soccer. Half these kids would get wrecked in the 90s by real men.

Makar drinking the Georgiev Kool-aid. Their goalie taunts his former fans after a win on our ice, but Igor makes a big save and he’s the showboat. Got it.

Haven’t read all 5 post-game pages so forgive me if already mentioned..,

Pu**y Makar gave a post-game interview mocking Igor’s save on him in third (“windmill”). This is Way way outside the “code of the road.”

This is also the player who was dick-stabbing Zib at end of OT.

My hockey fantasy is that the Rangers meet the Avs in a Cup final and Makar implodes emotionally. Csuss s inv him to give up breakaway goals to Vesey, Goodrow and Blais (in that order).

Kid seems to be a prima donna. He is a gifted skater and offensive player but he is a middle of the road defender.
This hockey world loves offense and pump this kids tires endlessly. Yes, he is a great player, but, no, he isn't the second coming of Bobby Orr.
