This.It would be silly to proclaim that they've permanently made the team.
They've made it for opening day. That's all we can say right now.

Yup! and on top of all that, if Drouin Hoffman and Dadonov all have career years we could be looking at winning the Presidents TrophyIf X, Guhle, Harris become legitimate top 6 THIS season, it's huge.
Slaf and Dach become middle 6, it's enormous. Top 6, it's unbelievable.
4 rookies and Dach breakout means as much as having a 100 point season.
Tinordi could fight. He concussed Gleason, who was a solid fighter himself.Jackeye made it because he’s a promising super middleweight with some skills. We have no one like him.
Tinordi couldn’t fight. This kid can.
1 goal in a meaningful game (Opening Night) against the Leafs would already be better than Poehlings exploit against the IDGAF Leafs last game of the year. But Poehling did it, so if Slaf does it he's also a bust
only for cap reasons?
Ridiculous progression curve. From undrafted to NHLer in 1 year.Gotta give it to Arber! Kind of thought he was just a unicorn for juniors. Surprised to see how well he played in preseason. Wait and see what happens but I find when someone gets passed over 5 times (2 OHL and 3 NHL) only to finally make the NHL, it’s usually a good sign and he can overcome a lot.
He may actually just be around for a while. Great story!

Guhle is the best of the bunch by a wide marginHarris is better than Xhekaj, Wideman and Kovacevic and, for now, just as impactful as Guhle.
I would’ve given the 7th spot to someone like bowey or shueneman to let the young ones develop in Laval.
But I will trust the FO on this one, something I haven’t said in about 10 years
That's not the question.Do you think it is a safe bet that three or four of Armia, Drouin, Hoffman, Dadonov, Pezzetta and Pitlick will outperform Slaf in the next 9 games? I don't.
Not so fast Mr. Xhekaj
What’s your standard? The bad players get to play and the players that can actually make the team better are sent down? That's not the question.
Slaf is not nhl ready. Unless big injuries , we have too many wingers.
Your expectations were perhaps unrealistic. Slaf showed plenty to prove he is among our top 6-8 wingers.Lots of rookies. They will surely waive a bunch of vets and send them down, as they will go unclaimed. Slaf should have started in the AHL, he didn't show much until now and I hope they don't burn yet another first rounder, this one though is first overall.
Do you guys are really impressed by Slaf preseason? It was nothing special and this is expected. What’s your standard? The bad players get to play and the players that can actually make the team better are sent down?
Didn't expect him to be McDavid unlike some posters on this board.Your expectations were perhaps unrealistic. Slaf showed plenty to prove he is among our top 6-8 wingers.
