I believe it’s some guy affiliated with his OHL team that stumbled onto him at a Junior A game and the team decided to take a flyer on him.

Harris is better than Xhekaj, Wideman and Kovacevic and, for now, just as impactful as Guhle.

I would’ve given the 7th spot to someone like bowey or shueneman to let the young ones develop in Laval.

But I will trust the FO on this one, something I haven’t said in about 10 years

I’m a little worried about these kids making the team in the sense of not repeating what we had done so many times in the past.
I would have probably sent Slaf and Arber down. Harris I think is ready and Guhle I think convinced me in his last 2 games. He played very well and consistently throughout all pre season.

Saw someone on Twitter saying that it doesn’t make too much of a difference where the development happens (AHL or NHL) especially for a team where the sole focus of the year is player development. If the team was focused on winning than it may be indeed be better in AHL but since even the habs are focused on developing, it may be okay to have them up.

Lots of rookies. They will surely waive a bunch of vets and send them down, as they will go unclaimed. Slaf should have started in the AHL, he didn't show much until now and I hope they don't burn yet another first rounder, this one though is first overall.

Your expectations were perhaps unrealistic. Slaf showed plenty to prove he is among our top 6-8 wingers.
