Thanks for the series guys. Despite being dominated for the most part, the Kings showed why they have won two cups by always chipping in and pushing to win. Just didn't have the depth on D, and the finish to get it done.

Hopefully with the right moves in the offseason we will see you again in the postseason next year.

Hey, thanks for the classy comments, Sharks fans. You have a strong team that dominated ours and I hope you beat the Ducks or Preds, whoever comes out of that series.

Disagree.. Quick could have been better..

The only bad goal was tonight making it 5-3. Jones was hardly tested at all. When he was and we actually manged to get a shot through without being blocked, we scored or generated a solid chance. This series was pretty easy for him. The team hung him to dry so many time by blown coverages.

I don't see how we can move Pearson.

How do we fill his spot (top 6 fwd) + re-sign Luic -or- fill his spot, as well? In theory, yes, it's easy to say "let's move Pearson for a top 4 D" because, obviously, Pearson isn't equivolant to a top four D. Duh. But moving him creates new holes that would in turn be exposed by deeper, more dominant teams at fwd (rather than D).

We need to pray that Gravel is legit, pray to unload Brown with minimal collateral damage (extremely unlikely), and figure out Lucic/1LW, and a number 3-4 D (Yandle). We all know this. How this is managed, we shall see. Perhaps it's too lofty to expect so many holes to be filled in one offseason. Let's see what Lombardi can do, he's earned our patience.

Also, we got throttled by an amazing team. Martinez wasn't going to change the outcome.

After Pavelski's goal everything stopped, pretty disappointing.
Wish Vinny scored, he had so many chances and really wanted it, especially since it's his last game, nice to see him get the last shift, kinda annoying none of the commentators mentioned it or anything or showed him in the handshake line.

The feed I was watching was talking about Vinnie all during his last shift. I'm not sure what feed it was, just "Channel 248" on a streaming site I won't name. The commentators seemed to be pro Kings.

But it was great they acknowledged him. He was a great player.

They were in the bottom 6, because our coach somehow believes Dwight King is one of the best players on the team. He brings nothing to the team, yet Sutter rewards him with prime time playing time.

That being said, the entire team was horrible this series. Sharks played their game and owned the kings.

How the hell did Sutter come to the conclusion the King should be on the top line in back to back games, especially in the elimination game.He changed the lines after we won game 3. He was a disaster in both game, especially the way Hertyl would work him over in the corners.:shakehead

Practice, locker room, who knows? Toffoli was a ghost the whole series and Carter was a -5. Did they deserve to be on the top 6?

The Kings did very little right all series long, and the Sharks did a lot right. The team lacked leadership, and most of the top player didn't play like top players. And, of course, the defense was terrible.

Sharks fans are making maximum use of the Crying Michael Jordan face on the web tonight. I feel like their team is giving them false hope.

That's funny, because this loss didn't feel like an upset whatsoever. This type of beat down was bound to happen when you match skill against whatever that was that the Kings attempted to do on the ice.

More so than King. Carter and Toffoli had points and could create something every once and a while. Since his first week coming back from a broken leg, he hasn't done Jack! This is once again Sutter stuck in his old school mentality. As others have pointed out, Sutter was out coached and out classed in this series. What did coach Q do in their elimination game, put Kane and Toews together for long parts of the game and it paid off.

Tyler Toffoli... 0g 1a -5 2pim
Dwight King 0g 1a +1 2pim
Jeff Carter... 2g 0a -5 4pim

Looks like Toffoli and Carter were a bigger detriment to the team's performance than King.

I can't blame Sutter too much when I saw the Kings get beat pretty much everywhere. To 50/50 pucks, board battles (which we used to be good at), couldn't cycle, couldn't PK, everything they were known for failed.

Shoulda kept Richards and Stoll guys. :sarcasm:

Atleast they had locker room presence. I don't think a single King this series has any locker room presence. Brown leads by example. Kopi is a quiet leader. Doughty is a rookie noob when it comes to leadership. Scuderi hasn't been here in years. Greene was hurt all year. Carter was more of a follower.

We weren't the first out, guys, what's the problem :sarcasm:

Better team won, I agree with the folks who said it isn't even an upset. I thought all along the Sharks would cause some major havoc, they hit us in every pressure point and were just a little bit better in every way. Going to be interesting to see them in the next round--did they blow their wad gameplanning and being motivated to get the Kings thorn out of their ass, or are they a legit contender? I think they've got the depth and top end talent to pull it off but they're not going to run into many more weak links.

Well, hell of a way to end a season. I've lurked I these boards for years, just thought I'd say hello. Tough night. I'll crawl back in the bottle now. I'll read much more from y'all down the road I'm sure. But I'll miss these game day threads, for better or worse.

 Good to hear from ya one way or another.

Agreed. He was outcoached but not much you can do when your Norris defender can't make simple defensive plays, for example.

It is what it is.

Awesome past five years or so leading up to our first, and second cups! Honestly I never though I'd see a Kings team win a cup let alone two! That being said I think a rebuild is in order, and has actually been overdue. So here's to the '12 & '14 Stanley Cup Champions!!! :yo:

I said it earlier, it's an elimination game, why not change things up? He went with the exact same line up that stunk up game 4 and aside from the 2nd period, did it again. What do you have to lose? It was totally embarrassing watching those guys fumble around when the goalie got pull with 3 min to go and not get a single scoring chance. :shakehead
