I want some snow so I'll take Phil's word. We've had nothing of substance and it's boring.

Two or three feet of snow are in order

Was reminded of something kind of interesting to me yesterday on FB.

It was on an 80’s group and TV shows came up and I was reminded that back then…

maybe now too, TV shows aired at the same time in the Central time zone and Eastern time zone.

So when I was watching Happy Days at 8 pm e.s.t. People in the Central were watching at 7 pm.

When the ”prime time“ lineup ended for the night in the central, it was only 10:00.

Did their “11:00” news run at 10:00 their time?

if so, what was on at 11:00?
if not, what did they air between 10 and 11, if the news was on @ 11?

all depends on who was the owner/operator of the stations are and do they have agreements like Hearst does here with WPXT.... AND Sinclair does with WPFO

When it gets this cold, the birds eat so much more seed. We have to use a lot more seed and keep an eye on it to keep it full - small birds especially can die from the cold very easily if they don't get enough energy. Our feeder has a constant stream of chickadees, gold finches, house finches, cardinals, etc.

We had snow squalls last night but not enough for much to accumulate - mainly drifting.

From what I understand a big problem in Boston right now is a dearth of school bus drivers and that's why they cancelled. They didn't want to end up with a bunch of kids suddenly stuck outside in zero degree weather.
When I was a kid we walked to school in 50 below against traffic and then faced nuns who made nurse Ratchet nice (not really)

Makes sense

I’m telling all my life coach clients to stock up on Swiss Miss cocoa, Campbell’s tomato soup, make a grilled cheese sandwich and watch Ted Lasso if they have Apple TV or if not - the GoT Red Wedding episode

George Santos said it’s going to be 50 below by noon so makes sense
Zero percent chance that happens. Accuweather is showing a real feel of -10 at noon. Yawn.

Doesn't explain the cancellations in the burbs. People are acting like this is some biblical ice age. Even if it hits the worst predictions, it's nothing we don't get every 5 or so years....and certainly no worse than 10+ other states that deal with worse regularly this time of year.

all the burbs around me have school. worcester is the only one with no school near me. Thats becasue alot of kids walk to school. plus alot of the kids dont even wear winter clothing.
