Whereas I hated the old mobile view and always used the desktop view on my phone and ipad.

Interesting. How come? All the mobile view did was take out all the fluff. Much easier to read and quicker loading. The desktop view was awful on devices. I liked being able to scroll the page and not worry about having to zoom in on the page.

Not a fan. It may be better on mobile than the old mobile version, but not for me, because I used the desktop version on mobile too.

It all seems to be far less clearly arranged. Maybe I'll get used to it, but it shows how great the old version was.

Getting use to it, don't mind it at all.
I love the alerts although I probably read less because of it.

Dislike that I can't turn off avatars and you can no longer click on the post count of a thread and see who posted how often. I found this was a quick way of determining if the OP was trolling or not.

Would be great to be able to hide boards. On the main page I only really look at the Trade and General Hockey board and need to scroll past all the fantasy and various other boards to get to the Leaf board.

the reply box usually dissappears behind my keyboard and i have to type blind. starting to really annoy me.

I also feel with our size - we need to have a subforum. There are things we don't have Pinned (which we should - ie: the season thread, the transaction thread, the injury thread). and we also have the Raptors thread and the Blue Jay thread (which - imo should not be pinned in the Leafs Forum, and I say this as someone who does check out both of this thread) - but the Leafs stuff should be the stuff that is pinned.

it would be nice (considering our heavy traffic) to have things like the player discussions etc, in this subforum as well so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle in how active this particular forum is. if we can't that's fine, but it would be nice if our Leafs Moderators would consider the "pinning rules"

also. consistency of when a thread gets locked it's either at 1000 pages. or it's page XX whatever comes first. way too many times locks get thread at like 935 posts.

Stickies need to be collapsible ..... it's hard to get to maple leaf content !

Xenforo is great. But this deployment needs tidying up.

I'm surprised they didn't show off the new features or explain the changes to users in a video. Poorly managed transition. HFBoards never is interested in what users think - i.e. The lack of a public feedback forum. That attitude is reflected in this poorly managed transition.

It's only a matter of time til threads like this are deleted before they start. Another HFBoards tradition.

FWIW ... Xenforo is great and people will love it in the end.

If an admin can PM me, I'll show them where all the Xenforo expert admins hang out.

A lot of things I like. The look, that I can see who quoted my posts, that sort of thing. What I do not like is it lags the hell out of my computer often and sometimes it takes me a huge amount of time to just write a few sentences. I have left in frustration several times because of it.

Same here. The lag is just horrible and in this day and age, should not be happening.

yeah i think all the thread titles have to be on one line somehow. way too few threads can be seen, and much too much scrolling needed to find stuff.

the row height is just way too high.

I wouldn't say I view the boards less, but I find my enjoyment isn't like it was before. A few constructive criticism comments:

Just like other sites that have gone to a predominantly white background (ie. TSN), the site lost it's charm. Way too much white is hard on the eyes. I don't find it to be a cleaner look at all.

Jumping to another forum isn't as easy as it was before. (I also can't find a way to jump to the Politics board forum without having the direct link; that was true with the other setup as well.)

I barely ever post new threads, but the button for it seems to be floating in a weird spot at the top.

Having to hover over a topic to find out the number of pages there are within is a bit of a nuisance.

Avatars of the poster who started a thread seems unnecessary.

I'm torn on the new quote feature which truncates lengthier posts being quoted. On one hand it makes the entire page less clunky. On the other, I feel there is some info or perhaps a video/tweet towards the end of a post that I missed on an earlier page and would be missing out on again.

I don't see why there is a need for any stickies on this board. If a thread is popular enough it will remain at or near the top anyway.

my work computer hates this new format, about 5 mins per view before it crashes. Only my work computer though so its unlikely the new formats fault

edit: need to be able to ignore threads, take them out of the screen its too congested as it is. I have no interest in Raptors or argos (not sure argos even havea thread though tbh), i realize i can just skip past it but there is a lot going on and scrolling past that coupled with threads of little interest. basically customisable to each individual is what im saying

OK, just found out something that I really really don't like. Something that I've seen on another forum that and it was and absolutely horrible feature.

When you ignore someone and they post a thread, you can't see it. This isn't the worst thing in the world for stupid threads these people start that I don't care to read anyway, but there are legit threads one may want to read that you'll just completely miss. If someone I have on ignore starts a GDT I'm not going to see it at all. If someone I have on ignore starts a player thread it'll be completely missed. This is ridiculous. The stupidest forum feature in the history of forums. Basically forces you to not put anyone on ignore or risk missing completely legitimate topics of discussion because they happen to have been posted by someone who posts a lot of ridiculous garbage.

Agreed. Use Ignore sparingly.

Q: does this happen alot ? Most people who qualify for ignore aren't great thread starters, non ?

The better ignore filter is above your shoulders. Un-ignore everyone, and then re-add people in light of their continued annoyance. :) Might be fun to re-examine their posts ?

I like it, but i do agree that on mobile the old "mobile view" was easier to sift through.
It was hard to add content, if I remember correctly.

Everyone was automatically unignored when the move to this forum happened. I've been in the process of reignoring the guys who are still way too annoying while giving everyone else "a 2nd chance" if you will, though I'm sure nobody cares if I can see their posts or not. I've only came across 1 thread I wanted to read that was started by someone on my ignore list thus far, but it's an issue I could see popping up plenty as the list grows.

it's just such a silly feature IMO. Plenty of annoying people start legitimate topics that you may want to read but not read the opening post itself. I came across complaints about it on a forum I only read before hadn't signed up, and thought to myself I hope I never see it on another forum. But alas here it is.

They have a feature where you can see all the threads by clicking show ignored content at the bottom but doing that every single time to show all the threads is dumb. There should be an option in your preferences to show them all, all of the time. Or at least be able to tell them to always show up individually like you can watch threads and we used to be able to ignore threads in the old forum(not sure if that's still there I never really use it anyway.

possible dumb question incoming...why cant i see tweets? just says "loading tweet"...
The server you are on likely has twitter blocked. My work server blocks a lot of social media stuff like twitter, facebook, etc so people will actually get some work done.

Didn't want to turn this into a rip fest. I will say I like how easily I am finding it to insert media images and tweets. The colour format and layout otherwise could be a touch better. It has pluses and minuses but considering how used to the old set up I was I am not 100% on board with the changes yet.

There should be a "This guy is crazy" button that when clicked by 10 fans of the same team puts an upside down team logo beside their names stating "This Lunatic does not speak for Team X".

There is an addon for Xenforo that extends the likes called Post ratings. It might be too much for HFBoards members to handle.
