"don't watch him play" is probably the most over used nonsense on this site, the league is littered with players who the fans thought could play centre at that level, there is more to the position then just winning draws. Willie is a great RW and a mediocre centre, he just doesn't have the will to play low in his own end.
An NHL centre has to be a snarling dog in their own end and Willie just isn't that guy, the only NHL centre i can recall not being that way was Gretzky and Willie sure ain't no Gretzky. Anyone who wants to break up what he and Auston do for each other doesn't really get hockey...fans are fans because they are, not because they're experts but simply because they love the game, if you think you know something that NHL coaches don't then you should go get your certies and start the long climb into the big chair.
