So this means Kasimir won't be back. Interesting that they even see him in the AHL or ECHL given he has never played North American pro as far as I can tell. Heck he never even played major junior or US college hockey. One big season last year seems to have gotten him this chance.

Looks like a good signing with the stats he had and size he brings. I imagine he'll be the second goalie with Dobes with Laval, which gives us some depth that the position.

Not true. Hughes' stats over the last three season are more than solid.

Really?
21-22
Fribourg NL 9 gp 3.56 0.871
Geneve NL 2 gp 2.00 0.920
Sierre SL 5gp 3.20 0.899

22-23
Fribourg NL 36 gp 2.32 0.907

21-22 are pretty mediocre numbers and 22-23 are average/below average.

He had very good numbers in the Champion League though.

Can't really see him as the AHL 2nd goalie unless Hughes strikes out on someone better, ECHL written all over it at this point in time.

Just checked on Cap Friendly, even though it is a 2 way contract he will get $775,000 whether he plays in Montreal, Laval or TR. This could change if there are more details coming later. If true, it is not a show me type contract.

The details are placeholders. Wouldn't put any value on them yet.

An experienced goalie to support Dobes was to be expected, but it's a good signing only if he's actually any good.

Stat reading doesn't indicate Hughes is particularly proven at pro level.
