You didn't see much of him last season did you? He hasn't looked this good and skated as fast as he did since before the first hip injury, never mind the 2nd. He's got robo-hips now and they serve him very, very well. I would much rather have Spooner be the main Boston piece than Krejci, but they'd have to add a lot more if he's the main piece I think.

no ive seen him a lot. I agree he was awesome last year, but as I said before he just had another major hip surgery and is currently healing. I love the guy and think he is a stud, hence why I said that this deal is unreal for both sides IF he can stay healthy. Again, he is a 30 year old that had major surgery on both hips and other big injuries... that would would put fear into pretty much every team that would acquire him... but as I said, if he stays healthy for a little while longer, it will be HUGE for Blues

PS, I would love it if people could leave Chiarelli/Oilers out of this thread. I know Chiarelli/Oilers eventually makes it into every single thread on HFboards, but lets try something new here!!!haha... so damn irritating

I'd think Army would want prospect+pick or defensive replacement+prospect/pick. I don't know your prospects values enough to make a good determination there though. I'd say Spooner is the Martin Jones equivalent to the Lucic trade, but still kind of hard to compare their values.

I wouldnt touch Spooner and a 1st for Shattenkirk. Thats too much.

Spooner and a 2nd for a signed Shatty I do, but no idea how STL feels about that.

I think Marek bounced this idea around on MvsW right after they signed Backes. It makes sense for both teams.

I think Krejci makes more sense from Boston's perspective anyway. We do have a bunch of cap space, but IF we sign Vesey, the bonus portion of his contract could potentially eat away some of that.

Add Berglund and put him at third line center; then his cap hit drops next year, and Chara's cap hit is down to 4 million, leaving you enough for the re-signed Shattenkirk, Marchand, and enough to pay Spooner & Pastranak as well.

We'd have to drop a right hander though I think. We already have Mcquaid and the two Millers under contract. I think Adam is movable, but that could easily wait until training camp when you can see if Colin is really ready to be a regular player.

Shattenkirk ,has already given a list of 4 teams he would resign with .My guess is Boston is one of those team,s.So 1 for 1 value is there ,cap space is the only real hurdle

First I've heard of a four team list for Shattenkirk. Interesting.

This came out when we were talking to 4-6 teams. It was determined that those teams were presented to Shattenkirk, not all 29, and that Edmonton was the one that was said no to.

Bruin fans think that. Lucic is a good example of a similar level type player with 1 year left.

Well Lucic got a mid-range 1st, a mid-tier defensive prospect, and a back-up (at the time) goaltender. Seems like Spooner (cost controlled 24 year old 50 pt. C/W) + an unknown 1st is pretty close.

Yep and ,and what i heard is Shattenkirk had presented Army, with a small list of 3 or 4 team he would reign with .I think Boston is on this list

Jones was then flipped for a 1st+throw-in prospect. I don't think Spooner would fetch much more than that right now.
I think Kreci will be a blue ,but Boston will need to retain .Or take a cap dump for it to happen .Boston needs a defender badly ,and they dont come cheap

You're not going to convince me that Jones is worth more than Spooner (or equal).

I think the true value is between Spooner and 1 st and Spooner and a 2nd.
