Not sure if they get headliners such as Metallica for the intermission. I would guess a has been local band such as Smash Mouth would be more likely.

bad enough I tell people, yup claim to fame, smash mouth is from San Jose.

Then they said I wouldn't make that claim. Just sayin.

Starting to get nervous. Weather forecasts out to Wednesday showing better than 50/50 rain chances into Tuesday and Wednesday during the week of the game. Doesn't give them a lot of opportunity to create the ice. Really hate to fly out there for a canceled game.

Same here. Even if it doesn't rain on game day, could really impact the creation and quality of ice

With all of the production and money going into this, is there even a chance that they would cancel the game?

I'm genuinely curious as I'm planning on driving up from SoCal to go to the game.

It's in the ticket warnings. they cant play in the rain, that's the main issue. the ice will dimple. They might try to postpone it a day (which would still hurt me as I am supposed to fly back Sunday ) but if you were looking at rain the preceding X days, i'm not sure how they would make the ice. it usually takes them a week to get it ready in the other locations.

This weekend the weather's nice. Can't they make it then and tarp the rink for the week until the rain (if any) breaks?

A thought. if they push the game to Sunday or Monday they won't have that much of a crowd I would assume. since most people have planned for that Saturday. (like me).

right now for the 18th it says 50% chance of rain in Santa Clara.

So the stadium could look nearly empty!

I know real life and obligations get in the way, but I'm surprised anyone would fly in for an outdoor game and not build in a cushion in light of the possibility of weather. I think I even mentioned this, in this thread, back when it was first announced. It's the Bay Area in February, after all.

You should change your return ticket now, if possible.

My clients wouldn't be to happy if I wasn't there on Monday. If it pushes, I miss out :(

So they could start things tomorrow. (But I'm guessing they'll probably have things ready for ice by perhaps the weekend or early next week.)

I've got a job and limited vacation time that i'm trying to save up for a more adventurous vacation than a trip to SJ for a hockey game, so I'll be pretty sad if the game gets pushed out a day. I gotta fly back to seattle on sunday night myself.

I didn't think there was printed tickets, only hard tickets.

that's what I thought!

Ticketmaster sent us to this site called ticketnow to buy tickets. It's like ticket exchange. We found tickets and they arrived yesterday but they were the printed out tickets. I was expecting the hardcover tickets.

Alright! I called the STH number at the SAP center and they looked into the whole printout thing and they advised me that the tickets are legitimate! That several 49ers sth were able to print out the tickets!
