I would eventually like to see Marleau-Couture-Torres. When that line was together before injuries, it was tough, skilled and got things done

While I realize that these lines aren't set in stone, they line up perfectly with stuff the coaching staff has said, so I think they should be read into.

Ya, I agree.

Obviously there's going to be mixing & matching going on over the course of training camp but these lines & D pairings are pretty much what I was expecting for game 1 of the season.

That said I'd LOVE to see Donskoi take a top 9 spot, it's just not going to be easy for him to do so.

It's the first time they're all playing together. Makes sense for the coaches to get their hockeygasms on and their fantasies at the start of camp.

Not to mention the inevitable line blender that we'll see when the team drops 3 goals in a row and the next line blender when we drop 3 games in a row.

I still think Ward is going to find his way onto that top line to provide a forechecking presence for the Joes

We'll probably see some variations but with DeBoer spending his career in the east I don't know how often he throws the lines in a blender

Seeing Ward with Couture does also make sense to me, I just think he fills the void on the top line better than anyone else currently on the roster

Like most coaches DeBoer likes the line blender, possibly more than McLellan.

they dislike boudreau this much they sent him back already? didn't he do well in the prospect camp?

Boudreau stated in an interview a few weeks back that he wanted to play an overage season in the Q if he didn't feel ready for the AHL. Missing almost all of last season with a wrist injury really set him back. I think the Sharks let him go because they don't feel he's ready for the AHL either. So this course of action makes the most sense for both him and the team. If he has a good season in the Q then I imagine he'll get into AHL games with someone.

Most intriguing pairs to me are Mueller-Martin and Stollery-Dillon. Not gonna read too much into it, but other pairs and lines look pretty much like I'd expect to see to start the season.

Those aren't pairs, just the d-men listed in numerical order.

The pairings I had in my earlier post were the ones they used today.

One thing to watch is they have McNally playing on his off side (RD). If he settles into the pro game & his skills can translate he could shoot up the depth chart pretty quickly.

That's the way it should be. Mueller is fighting for a spot with DeMelo & Tennyson.

With Dillon being much better on his natural side I think Mueller starting in the AHL would be best for both him & the Sharks.

I don't understand what he's saying here.

We only have 5 d at camp? Or only 5 in the Sharks designated locker room?

Five Sharks d in the locker room, it's symbolic that they are locks for spots while the 6th and 7th spots are up for grabs. Interesting that they are pairing Dillon with DeMelo and Tennyson with Mueller, hopefully that means they realize that Dillon is better on the left(his natural side) and they are testing the other 3 in various positions.

Also looking at the top two lines of each group. Leaves Barclay and Brown out.

Donskoi hasn't climbed yet either, but it my book could be higher than where he is.
