Prospect Info: Sharks Prospect Info & Discussion thread XXI: "New, improved, and wayyyy to much info" Edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
His actually shouldn't be too hard ("Chair-knee-shohv"), which makes it even funnier
Right? It may not be immediately obvious how it should be pronounced if you aren't familiar with Russian names, but once you hear it once, it's easy to get. I think I've heard about six different pronunciations from the Sudbury announcers tonight alone.

"Mark Stone"
"Jamie Benn"
"Sasha Barkov"

Woah.
Oh you.

My favorite has been the pronunciation of Chernyshov that literally rhymed with "permissive". Like, change out the P for a Ch and the m for an n.

Great first period for Musty, created a half dozen grade A scoring chances even if only one went in the net. Then Sudbury Sudbury'd.

Chernyshov was solid, not his best game. Still ended up with a pile of PP points.

Didn't see but Dickinson and Halttunen lit up Owen Sound. Not too shocking, but Sam is getting hot again, it's good to see.

To sum up last nights Sharks to the left Sharks to the right OHL-scoreboard:

#1 star: BDE, 1G, 3A, +5, 10, yes ten shots
#2 star: Halts, 2G, +2, 2 shots = shooting 100%
#3 star: Mark Stone, 3A
#4 star: Q 1G, according to Juxta could have had a hell lot of more

As someone who has a Russian name, I’ve spent my life watching the light go out of people’s eyes when they try and pronounce my said-exactly-as-written last name. They start making up letters, changing sounds of things, it’s like watching an aneurysm in slow motion.

My surname is turkish and I get the same thing haha. 7 letters, phonetic, and always mispronounced

I wish they had included the hit in the fight vid
It was very technically clean because Sam had passed the puck right before the hit and the head wasn't targeted, but it was a cheap shot by a guy who just came out of the box and made a beeline straight for Sam and hit him from behind. Guy frankly got lucky Sam wasn't too close to the boards and had the puck, or it would have been a clear-cut charging call.

Thanks for the play by play

Our NCAA boys seem to be doing pretty well all things considered with most of them having relatively low draft capital.

Did you have to make a new account since Mayo8898 seems to be deactivated? Otherwise that would be one hell of a coincidence.
