I think Ben G should have a real chance at playing on one or both of those teams. The goalies getting drafted this year are pretty consensus bad, and he was on the U18s and did well a few years ago.

I don’t think we will see Gannon making either team but it would be awesome if he did

Congratulations

Hopefully he can do some damage @ Training Camp, would love to have some fresh players fighting for a spot on the Sharks. He has the size for the NHL and would be great fit if he works out.

New wave of Sharks needs some size and I think last year they played Eklund - Bordeleau - Coe line in the offseason. Would love to have the kid line in there, it would open up a possibility to play Couture - Hertl - Meier (all in line) and start building a 3rd and 4th lines.

It's unlikely because I think they put Eklund with Hertl/Couture and Meier, to maximize his potential.
Coe is probably not ready yet. Bordeleau is pretty much going to play in the big club, but I think he could get some AHL time if his production isn't there.

There is just too many options and with free agency coming up, I have no idea what will this team look like from our forwards point of view:

C:
Hertl (1st line C)
Couture (2nd line C or 1st line W)
Bordeleau (2nd W /3rd line C)
Bonino (anywhere as winger, but 4th line C)

W or W/C:
Meier (1st line W)
Barabanov (1st-2nd line W)
Labanc (1st-3rd line W, but really is a big ?)
Balcers (3rd line W)
Gregor (3rd-4th line W)
Dahlen (2nd-3rd line W)
Nieto (4th line W)
Reedy (Anywhere imo, if he is not a playdriver. Most likely 3rd-4th line W)
Weatherby (AHL:ish)
Chmelevski (AHL:ish)

As the year went on, Timo and Bara started showing some chemistry. Id like to try:

New Winger-Hertl-Eklund
Timo-Couture-Barabanov
Bonino-Bordeleau-Gregor
Balcers-Reedy-Chmelevski

I’m sure I’m forgetting people as it’s early and I just woke up but oh well. If Bordeleau and Eklund show they are ready for those roles I think it could work pretty well. Now our defense is shit and I really want to do that Burns for Marino trade from a while back.

Knyzhov-Karlsson
Ferraro-New RD
Vlasic-Merkley
Meloche

That new RD has to be at least steady defensively. That could create a bit of a shutdown pairing. Someone like Marino, Cernak as just a couple names. I think Bear could be a good buy low option there but I don’t know if he’s quite there but if we can’t find anyone else, he wouldn’t be a bad choice. Goalie wise, I still think it’s best to move Reimer. I think he returns the best asset and I also think Hill will round back into form again. He’s shown some pretty good flashes to be a solid 1B just a matter of putting it all together. Kahkonen should already be a good 1A.

Damn I posted in the wrong thread.

It's been a while since a forward just stole a top-9 spot out of training camp. I'm really hoping that one of Robins/Coe/Gushchin can do so.

The next 2-3 years are going to be big for how we view DW Jr's drafting.

I'll give you a prediction. They won't and we'll hate Jr by then

I was at a rink up in Denver a few weeks back and heard that Chrona would be returning to DU next season. For what it’s worth, was chatting with some DU season ticket holders while the kids were practicing to get their take on him. Their opinion was that he was not a NHL caliber prospect until this past season when he made some bigger strides on his areas of weakness, namely his vision in tracking the puck seemed much improved and they said the bigger issue was his lateral movement. He put in work and came into the season much quicker than the prior year. They felt he was a legit prospect if the speed in particular trends in the right direction. As an aside, they all enjoyed the fact that I am a life long Sharks fan and gave me crap about it.

I like that some of our draft picks are playing on the same team. This seems to be uncommon.

CM has a couple of yesterday's draftees taking another season before they head to college. So in USHL, etc.
