On this week's spittin chiclets, max Talbot revealed the Sharks really pushed for him in free agency in 2011. Fits with their whole "rings in the room" mindset.

I don't remember ever hearing about this though

I remember we were rumored to be interested in him at the time.

I just came in here to post part 2.

NHL Playoff Officiating, Player Safety and Accountability - Part 2

Very interesting. I never noticed the Stone elbow to Pavelski's head.

I ****ing hate Vegas so much.

I can't get over the part of speech issues with comparing "hurt" and "injury".....

W/R/T the actual article(s), i will say this: neutral fans claimed that the Eakin crosscheck is a play that "happens all the time", but after that play, i played close attention to every in-zone faceoff for the rest of the playoffs and never saw anything like that. Eakin loses the draw and skates forward to cross check Pavs to push him out of the way, forgoing putting his hands the right way on his stick to play the puck.

Maybe i'm biased, but a major for crosschecking was absolutely the right call.

Here's a video of goals from faceoffs (hard to find another compilation of offensive-zone draws) and not one crosscheck like Eakin's

great now i am mad at that whole situation again, especially the league and Vegas's responses to it. maybe we need to go back to the days of link, imagine if we had three of him in our system, one to play, maybe two against Vegas, and one back up for when the others get suspended. If knock outs are part of the game again we should adjust. (I am not advocating for them to do anything against the rules, just copy what is clearly legal according to the examples set by the NHL this last post season)
Ok now i feel dirty lol

My read of the situation has always been 2 minutes for crosschecking and 5 for interference causing an injury. As many have stated the second hit was what cause the injury, but it was also illegal and away from the play as the faceoff had been cleared away and Pavelski was off balance when hit.

Love the Ducks (goalie) mask and skate.

There was talk on Reddit that the contents of the shark's stomach contained an element from each Pacific team, but i dont think it was ever concluded or finished.

Definites
ANA - Mask
LA - License Plate
VAN - Orca skeleton
CGY - Red helmet

Maybes
EDM - Old skate and stick representing fleeting relevance?
VGK - Trash?
ARZ - puffs of white representing threat level?

Congrats to Mark Smith on his induction into the Saskatchewan junior hockey hall of fame

(I see Sharks goalie prospect Nolan Schaefer also listed as inductee)
