Has there been any update on Rantanen? Like what he was dealing with before the Burns hit and then what that hit did to him?
I don’t think so. He was coming off an injury going into the playoffs, too. That Burns hit looked like it did damage. Everyone has bumps and bruises in the playoffs.

Fair enough, I was following the Calgary series and I remember Landeskog was supposedly playing hurt as well. Hopefully those guys are all fine in the long term.

Landeskog came back just before the playoffs, but he was supposed to be out for a bit longer. How is Kane? I saw some posts on the Sharks board and some fans think he is hurt. What a great series that was. Good luck the rest of the way!

We don't know if he's hurt, we're assuming he's hurt because of how rubbish he has been. He was okay until the fight with Reaves.

The whole Sharks team was gassed going into the final period. Colorado completely dominated the final 20 minutes. Once again, if Colorado had not made the mistake of screwing up the line change on what would have made it a 3-3 tie, the Avs probably would ahve finished the Sharks off in OT. I have no horse in the race either, as my team was knocked out.

Having said that, congrats to the Sharks and I look forward to the Western Conference Final.
they weren't generally gassed. the avs pushed hard and they turtled quite a bit. but they played the prevent defense almost perfectly. i hate when they do that but the avs didn't really create anything great. though there was one particular shift where the avs hammered them and they were gassed on the ice and eventually gave up a good chance, and jones ate it up.

the avs honestly got better chances when the game was more back and forth.

Without digging up a bunch of stats/advanced stats, that seems like a good assessment.

With their speed they seem to score a lot of quick goals on turnovers, or dropping the puck back to macK in the defensive zone while he burns past the other team skating 150ft+ up the ice.

Sharks adapted to that play though and really clogged him/them up. It was particularly evident tonight, though the injury likely played a big factor as well

Im hearing alot of rule bending going around here. People questioning whether or not he touched the blue line means f all. He needs to be on the other side of the line to clear the zone, not just touching it. The blue line is not in some super state where its two things here people. You're either over the line or you're not...and it works both ways, either entering or exiting the zone.

Thats how real hockey is played and I dont know where these false rules are coming from
Actually the blue line does have two states. It changes depending on the zone the puck is. It why you can skate the puck on the line while in the attacking zone but can’t while in the neutral zone. I’m not even really sure if there’s different rules because he was changing and don’t care at this point.

The Joe Pavelski love fest continues. Don't get me wrong - I actually like Joe Pavelski. It's the love fest I'm not a fan of. Pierre's interview almost made me sick last night. Even looked awkward for JP. Will take my allegiance to this Blues' team that was close to last place or in last place at one point in January I believe. Pretty remarkable story in itself.

Get rid of that stupid f***ing rule already... not the first time it has heavily affected the outcome of a series. Not saying SJ doesn't deserve it, as it's the same fule for everyone but my god is it awful. Just as bad if not worse than the foot in the crease rule.

Glad to see the Sharks win a round without ANY controversy this time :sarcasm:

In all seriousness congrats to the Sharks and good luck going forward.

Colorado is the real deal going forward with that core on those contracts.

A lot of “ifs”’in this statement. And apart from the first 5 minutes of the 3rd - I would hardly call that “dominating”. Not many great chances on net. SJ played the perfect defense.

I slept through the game last night. Just catching up now...

What kind of call/review is San Jose getting in their favor to defeat the Blues in game 7? I'm betting a phantom goaltender interference, but it would extra hilarious if they brought back 'foot in the crease' for one night only.

Cue the fans that don't think rules should be enforced if it "doesn't affect the play".

Too many men on a bad change? "The extra guy never even touched the puck!"

The play is either offside, or its not.

Correct. In this case though it wasn’t offside. Landeskog tagged up. There was a point where the puck had re-entered the zone, Landeskog was touching the blue and everyone else was outside the zone. That’s a tag up and at that point it’s clear for everyone to re-attack. Any pictures of Landeskog being inside the zone either before or after are irrelvant since at this exact point the play is ruled clear and offside is negated.

There’s your tag up. The puck is back in the zone at this point while every Avalanche player is clear.

I wouldn't have argued with a slow change resulting in too many men. But that's not what happened. The entire point of the rule is to make sure a team doesn't get an advantage by going on the attack early. So, if you have a replay that allows you to completely ignore the entire point of the rule, then it's a bad rule or bad call, or both.

It it was it is. It's not like we get a redo. But some folks acting like this was somehow a good call, or good for the sport can frankly f*** off.
