Things look promising, but the three teams we've beaten are a combined 4-11-1 (.281 P%).

So it's probably a little early to claim victory on either side.
I don’t know if we’re a great team yet, but it was just a bit silly to claim that it’s meaningless to look at underlying numbers based on two hard luck losses. Shit happens.

We were always out of the Bedard running. Even taking out our talent level, there are just too many awful teams this year, especially out west with some really shameless tanking in Arizona and Chicago
We were never gonna finish bottom 3 or even bottom 5 (not even with last year's goaltending) but a bottom-10 finish was still possible if goaltending is not good. It would take a whole lot of luck to win that lottery. More than the Larsson lottery, Nico, Jack and Nemec combined.
What are you drinking, Bleedred?
Peep the white text at the bottom! Haha.

I still think the finish will come as long as they keep at it. Yegor broke through today so more Goose eggs off guys backs.

It's unfortunate that our 4th line is such a black hole

Haula and Tatar neee to break the goose egg soon. Particularly haula. Bratt will get his as usual. He is usually slow starter with goals....

I do think fans were a little quick to chant ''FIRE LINDY!'' on home opening night.

I mean, I'm all for letting fans chant that and I'm not the biggest Ruff supporter, but I do think that was a little too quick.

And I've gone in record as saying we probably shouldn't have even brought him back to begin with, but I think that was a little too quick of a turn.

And I am glad the fans are passionate and have had it enough to be vocal.

We are 3-0-0 since ''FIRE LINDY!'', as well as the RangersDoggo era, which I'm sure someone else must have mentioned.

Bedard would be nice but I would rather rack up wins and be competing for a playoff spot and get these guys some hope and confidence. Then next year the talent level gets infused with Luke and nemec which will be a tremendous boost

The only black eye, Michael McLeod has now gone 38 straight games without a goal for the second time in his NHL career.

It's hard to believe a forward (That isn't a goon or some call up fodder) can be that bad at goal scoring. Especially when the players isn't particularly bad at producing points, at least not at a 4th line rate he isn't.

I agree.

I can tell ya Bleed..No one has since said a peep about fire Lindy since first period of that 2nd home game. Once the team came out and dominated play in the 2nd with the ducks its all mostly positive vibes again.

Also, nothing but cheers today in the arena. Some minor murmurs about the PP but fans seem much more settled again.

This is my biggest pet peeve now. We have better solutions than McLeod. In the waitings. Not sure how much we can tolerate the non production. Its getting to crazy levels.

Its not even that he is unlucky. He just doesnt generate anything at all.

You got Mango sitting in AHL and Boqvist sitting around, and this other guy doing very little.

I want wins too.

My point with the Bedard mention was that we're past that now. We're not bad enough to compete for him, so may as well win as much as possible.

I don't want the 10th overall pick or even the 12th or god forbid higher than that.

I wanna make the playoffs. Even if it's a round one loss.

I kind of felt more sympathetic to Lindy after he gave what I thought was a very classy answer to the question about the boos.

He brought up the proud lineage of the organization and even credited the fans for knowing winning hockey and wanting W's. He took the question well, he sounded sincere. It wasn't a BS politician line. That made me root for him a little bit.

As far as Holtz, I don't disagree too much with scratching him right now, but everything from here falls on the GM. They need to send him to Utica to play some games. He can come back whenever, at any time.

Missed the game, glad to see they’ve got a streak going.

Bad finishing or good goaltending?

Want to see Hughes really go on a bender.

Maybe both.

I don't think Kahkonen played that badly the first two games. Allowed a bad wraparound goal in the Prague game he played and maybe one bad goal against the Hawks in a game where he allowed 5, but I didn't think most of his goals were bad that game.

I think he was due for a game like this to bring his save percentage up a bit. I was actually a bit worried when I saw he was starting rather than Reimer, despite Reimer having been better so far. Reimer might be due for a dredging (hopefully not from Philly) and Kahkonen was due for a good game.

First of all, how your own defensive core is look like? And not in your fantasy future "if" squad? Or you are not CBJ fan?
And for the next, who are the other red wings guys? Phillip "very good in his own zone" Hronek and Anton "very good in his own zone" Johansson? Or William "very good in his own zone" Wallinder? I understand - it`s may be better "core", than Jackets have, if you are even cbj fan, but what are you actually forget here? You've been thinking about other people's moms for too long, forgetting about yours in the next room. She asked me to tell you not to be naughty anymore.

We can send a duo or trio defensemen who would be better than everything drw have in pipeline after Seider and Edvinsson. For Kasper of course. He could be good third line center here. Oh, do you think he has great top-6 potential? May be, but in DRW. Not here.

Happy for Mac, that's three good games in a row now. Can't blame him for that Leblanc snipe, that's a real hard save to make, it would either need luck, foresight or superhuman reflexes.

Kähkönen is actually a decent goalie that's been playing below his level, but you gotta admit it's funny when yet another goalie coming from barely .800sv% looks like a vezina finalist against the Devils. They need more finish.
Hughes, Sharangovich and Mercer have all had great individual moments, but I'm not sure they are clicking together yet. Tatar is an anchor and Wood and Haula haven't had the chemistry they had in preseason. I say we put Mercer back to the 3rd to reignite that line and slot Holtz with Hughes and Yegor. Just try it a couple of games, if it's a defensive disaster then do something else.

Anyway though many expected a big scoring win today, a win is a win and they showed that they can hold it together. EN and especially pp+en 4v6 has been brutal for the Devils the past few seasons, so I'm happy they got through it this time!

Edvinsson looked like dog shit in the WJC , looked like shit in preseason. I think he will be a very good player but how does those two make them the best D group in the league? The rest of their D is nktnjg great at all. I’d say rather have what the Devils have and it’s not even close.

He has been playing the best hockey we've seen him play. Believe it or not, we don't necessarily need 22 guys who can score. I mean, we've had goalies score in the past but...

Weird, certain posters seem absent or quiet lately. I wonder why?:sarcasm:
Why jinx it?

It’s so unsustainable. There is no reason for smith to see the ice right now. He has almost had a negative impact on every game with all the penalties. Holtz and Z should be in tbh
I don't like Smith any more than anyone else, but it is what it is at this point.

Unfortunately, he's probably in the lineup to stay for quite some time, barring an injury to himself.

I knew when they signed him for 2 years I knew he wasn't gonna be the 7th D. At least not early in year one.

He's the epitome of every bad stereotype of the ''Old, defensive defenseman''. Grenade handler, can't skate anymore. Overly physical to a fault.

He wasn't a bad defenseman as of last year, maybe it'll level out soon enough, but the early returns are not really dividends.
