Proposal: Shane Pinto, Drake Batherson for Mason McTavish & Troy Terry

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Ducks are building around McTavish and Carlsson. Acquing one of these two would be costly. McTavish would cost Stutzle or Brady Tkatchuk. And why would Ottawa do that? Yet, that would be the cost.

I don’t think there’s any proof that we’re building around mctavish yet…


Think we’re trying to see which young guys step up around carlsson.

Right now zegras > mctavish…. And I think gauthier and sennecke will be better than mctavish.

I’m open to the idea of trading mctavish personally if the right move was available

He's a better player but I don't think he's better proportionally to how much more he'd cost. Anyway I want to keep Terry and I'm not against packaging other pieces for an extended Rantanen, although I think we may have our own right handed version in Sennecke.

This week agree on, if we are putting a package together for a more surefire star talent, McTavish is the guy I'd move out of those top young forwards.

Ya I just think it was an interesting proposal…. If it happened I don’t think I’d be happy or mad.

I was a big Ritchie fan in his draft year, so I’d be ecstatic to get him(I liked ritchie more than I liked mctavish in his draft year).

But sennecke could be a rantanen type player down the line if he pans out. I also think I’d prefer to see terry w/ a functional coach and roster before I moved him based on the reason you stated… his contract is really good.

You dont trade 80pt+ players who are still relatively young for potential. Mctavish will be the same age as Stutzle (22) next month and hasnt even come close to his impact or production. Carlsson is a different story i agree he has a bright future and is only 19 but McTavish for Stutzle or Brady is not happening.

I was screaming for us to move up and get a pick to acquire Ritchie as soon as they got past the top 10 in that draft, they got such a steal with him.

Which I said “if he became available”

There’s obviously rumors…. And in that situation I’d put him in that eichel territory of trade value.

Sens are never trading Brady because they want to, it’ll always be because he wants to leave. Nobody wants to trade a Brady player

Not mpossible but Sennecke becoming something close to Rantanen is extremely unlikely. Very head in the clouds comment.

Lol I was wondering what part of that post you took issue with. I sort of doubt you're scouting Sennecke closely enough to be correcting people on what his potential might be. But if you want to give yourself that much credit to the point you feel the need to be so condescending, congrats on the confidence.

I feel like we shoulda used draft capita better to move up and get more sure things.. rather than staying at our picks and getting long shots

I could see sennecke as a lite version of rantanen

Right. Because he’s a mystery box, that obviously means your outrageous projection is correct. Of course. And naturally that could be said about several RW prospects around the league...each time they’re projected to be something close to Rantanen, they’re obviously correct.

It’s nice to know in 3 years, there are going to be dozens of Rantanens in the league. Scouts are always right and this will be the obvious outcome.

You are severely overreacting as though I made anything close to a guarantee. I said "may have our own version". No strong statement of likelihood and doesn't even necessarily suggest our version would be as good. Far too defensive of Rantanen's image lol

Literally just quoted myself verbatim where I said "MAY have our own version". You are reacting as though I stated we don't need Rantanen because Sennecke will be the same player. It's an issue of reading comprehension, you are taking what I said to be a much stronger statement than it was.

It's absolutely not a stretch to suggest that our 6'4 200 lbs ridiculously skilled top 3 pick MAY end up our version of Rantanen while absolutely making zero guarantees. You are on the wrong website if suggesting a prospect MAY have star potential, gets you this bothered.
