Between him, Bahl, Okhotiuk, Misyul, Vokujevic and Bernard the Devils have a good shot to get at least one, maybe two physically strong LHD.

Bernard didn't sign with New Jersey and is no longer Devils' property.

In today's NHL you win with tiny floaters. Look how Tampa and Toronto dominates. :sarcasm:
Tampa actually traded for Coleman and Goodrow to have an alternative for the floaters. Johnson and Gourde are the pieces they try to move.
You need skill, but you also need size and toughness. The more versatile the roster is the better.

That was funny how our more skilled small guys were smacked up over and over by more agressive and strong teams.

No. It wasn`t. Good reasonable managment on draft.

That pinch was nice but it could've easily gone the other way with a 2 on 1.

All I'm trying to say is that Jacques would've shrugged.

What? No, the wingers were dropping to cover the slot, they were not moving toward the neutral zone. No chance of a 2 on 1 there.

I was mostly joking but I guess the pass/shot into the slot that stayed on the short side could've conceivably been redirected the other way past our guy.

What makes the pinch work is that he saw his team had a 2 on 1 along the board with clear possession. That was a safe gamble.

My favorite Lemaire joke....

Q: What did Jacques tell Scott Neidermayer before his penalty shot?
A: Dump it in the corner and get back on defense!!!

A whole thread by Julie, who has a good eye.

My entire problem with that eliteprospects overview was never that the comments were inaccurate about his performance in some games in that tournament, it's that a prospect analysis was solely based on a few games in a tournament. It doesn't really matter how warranted the comments were based on his performance, content like that has no business being the sum total of an analysis for a prospect in what is supposed to be a respected article.

i am happy, that most have come along, that this wasn't a bad pick. a risky pick, yes, but not a bad one. the upside is there and currently he is the devils best bet for the left side of the first pairing. he also has the size and skating to be compatible with most player types. he could work with severson or smith, with walsh or with mccarthy, with ... oh, we are already at the end of the list.
