Well, I don't know what to tell ya, 10 mins OT is a lot, after that it's a SO, everyone knows this, stop complaining about it and just accept that this is how the tourney has been run forever.
There is also a coin flip in rules so this isn't a thing to whine about luck.

It really means a lot to both of us. Swiss are due for a gold and deserve one. Josi deserves a gold too! Time will tell. I expect to be throwing up by the third.lol
Booked the table, will watch the match on the big screen with a Czech buddy and a bunch of his friends. Also quite a large amount of scorned Swedes.
Really looking forward to the match, such a sweet final

^this is why Canada gets a lot of hate on these boards by so many.

When you guys beat us 3-2 in the group stage, I congratulated Canada, no other comment. Maybe you should learn to deal with it a bit better, too.

In the midst of all the heartfelt congratulations from Canadians you single out one or two guys as emblematic.

This is why I don’t have a lot of time for Europeans when it comes to their opinions. They’ve already made them up regardless of what you do or say.

If I stereotyped as vigorously as Europeans do about their own countries based on a few selected posters, they’d all be a bunch of douche bags.

Why should I accept it. Im on a hockey blog where people give and discuss their hockey opinions. This tournament is so f***ing flawed that the IIHF should be disbanded and replaced.

I mean, I've loved this tourney for the last two weeks and for the last 5 years when I started paying attention to it closely tbh, you're the newcomer and the big whiner because you didn't get your way. Suck it up buttercup.

Newcomer... ha! I'm actually at the tournament. I've been at many WC's and watched the last 40 or so of them.

I love hockey more than I hate the IIHF. Although it's close.

You should respect it for what it is then. Enjoy the chance to be there, it's a bucket list goal for me one day.

👍 100% agree on the last part.
Too bad that:

is a stereotype

And there you vigorously stereotyped Europeans ;) (kidding)

It should be common sense, that every attempt to judge anyone by their country of birth (or the country they root for) - even more so on a internet hockey forum - is one of the most futile things on earth.

Canadians who disrespect the WCs annoy me too.

In most cases they tend to be more casual fans who might tune in for the medal round or the final.

The WCs is a social sports tournament that is endlessly entertaining because it is annual and thus you never know who will be there.

While frustrating for teams with less depth, I find the novelty of different lineups fascinating.

The fan experience and the beer gardens are a lot of fun too. If you wear a Canada jersey or an NHL jersey, plenty of Europeans want to know your opinion on their guys in the league. It’s a very friendly carnival atmosphere, win or lose.

(Hannover was the last one I attended, it’s been awhile)

Don't tell me what to think and feel.

Its not a chance that I here it's a decision. I love hockey and choose to spend money to go alot of international tournaments.

I'll shit talk the WC's and IIHF forever and still go to whenever I can.

I'll be right there in Milan spewing hate at the IIHF in 2026. I'll be at the amazingly shitty Avicii Arena in 2025.

But if Canada had won it’s because of what?
It would still be a shitty was to win. The IIHF would still suck. I don't know what else to say.

I'm actually looking forward to the Bronze medal game tomorrow as it is likely the two more talented teams and hope to watch the Czechs win at home because the Czecha are good people and Prague is one of the best cities in the world.

You're exactly the type of person that I avoid. Congrats on showing me that in record time, you should be proud. Enjoy...whatever it is that you enjoy, complaining about things you can't control, I guess.

No one likes shootouts but they can’t keep skating the ice into the ground either in a tournament format.
