Team wears the loss together. Defence bad (forwards, defence and ol Stu-nuts together), did not react well to missed calls (which as a veteran team and, yknow, as the Oilers, I would have expected better from us), and our special teams were doodoo. The bottom 6 needs a shake-up - those lines were both awful. +wise, shout out to Connor Brown for remembering where the net is this season.

It's hard because as a casual fan, I bet this game was awesome to watch. Lots of lead changes, funny bounces (which I despised), two fantastic goals by elite goal scorers (Hyman and Reinhart), big hits, a fight (a bad one)... just ends angry because we cheer for the team that lost.

How many freebies did the Panthers get?

Bouch stumbling and bumbling for the shorty.

Mikkola’s point shot ping ponged in.

J Skinner got hit by the bench and they all stopped playing for some reason.

Reinhart’s shot behind the goal line off Skinner’s head.

Verhaege left wide open in the slot, the GWG.

5 baffling GAs.. One of their worst game in a while. They were playing with some nerves. You could tell.

If I’m the Oilers I’m asking ourselves how we win when we know forearms will hit our face, and knees willl come up high on forechecks.

Tonight was a good test for them. They needed this reminder. You can beat 95% of teams in this league playing the way you play. But how do we beat prison rules hockey? Figure that shit out. Tonight was the lesson.

The painful thing is we know the formula - we beat them with it in Games 4-6. Chip pucks out fast to catch them over aggressive on the forecheck. Then we decided to take a casual approach to breaking out tonight instead.

Let's start with the one two feet behind the goal line.

What should he have been doing instead exactly?

Yup. nerves. They were surprised when Florida started ramping up the dirt again. And we’re not ready for it.

Islands in the stream.
Believe it or not, there are people who actually believe this goalie (from his entire body of work plus playoffs) can lead us to a cup.

it's fascinating to me. You could physically see with your eyes from the first 10 min he didn't have it tonight. He was lost.

And Bouch was trash tonight. Worse than trash. Ekholm looked like dung too. Still, 6 should not have gone in

And that is the thing, even when the other goalie is trash, Skinner has to One down him lol
Saw the same. He was extremely lucky this didn't happen previous game after the supreme shit 3rd goal he let in. Fortunately we got a fluke goal right after or he was ready to shit the bed again. rattled Skinner it ain't pretty. People were defending him nonstop tonight. I don't even know how.

Sure Booch was bad in this game. He's generally good. Skinner is generally not good enough and was not prepared to play this game at any point. Even after 3rd goal I wanted him pulled. Well really I wanted him pulled 2yrs ago.

Death, Taxes, and Stu Skinner, you can't win.

I honestly don't think they will and that gives me no hope of a cup

I hear too much Skinner dick polishing on the radio and in the media to know there is a mandate there to condition us to it.

You are not going to score 5 goals a game in the playoffs.

Regular season, sure, you will have some big downs like STu does, but that cannot happen come playoff time.
I feel the same way. It will be very unfortunate if it’s true. Zero chance Skinner wins us a cup. I would trade him and start anyone.

You figure it out by getting a goalie who can make a high danger save.

Somewhere on Uranus
"Haven" forbid you realize and admit the game was slanted by Gary and the Refs (could make that into an Elton John song)... even before it began.

Dude--I watched he game-oilers played like shit!

But this board has two default settings EVERYGAME

1) Blame the refs
2) Blame Skinner and the goalie coach

Skinner sucked this game

IF you guys are serious that the refs are f***ing over the oilers under orders from the NHL?

Here are links to report the crimes

If you so convinced about it? Call the cops. As the NHL is now heavily involved in gambling--this is now RICO act level stuff in the US

Man up file a complaint if you are so sure

Playing that way is just not a style Knob plays or is comfortable coaching
