The series that wouldn't even have happened if Pickard and the rest of the team hadn't heroically bailed out Skinner in the Nucks series?

Been watching Dallas for years. That team goes stone cold in playoffs every year at some point against any goalie. One year it was even to the flames and Markstrom. Dallas are just like that, and its their own nemesis. Skinner didn't look great against any other club.
Skinner outplayed Oetinger
A supposed “elite” goalie

You painted the only other possibility as Cam Talbot. Tell me how that’s not a textbook strawman.
In a reply that quoted Talbot i made a comment about Talbot. My reply was not a comment about what possibilities there are out there. Only a reply about one possibility that was brought up.

Really? Aren't you the one who constantly has it out for the coach?

Are you blind? Have you not noticed defensively a change in the way the team plays from Nov. 12th, 2023 of last year?

I have my qualms with some of Knob's offensive adjustments or lack thereof, but defensively he and Coffey get results on that side of the rink, there's not even an arguement there.

Skinner is still finding a way to put up horrible numbers here behind a terrific defensive system.

I wouldn't overreact to this one. Oilers have played well vs the top tier of NHL teams this month.

We ran out of gas tonight. We're doing just fine. And the schedule gets much lighter after the Boston game.

I actually liked how we played outside of the easilly correctable brain farts we had. Puck movement, execution, was on point outside the shit.

We? I sure would've replaced Skinner 2yrs ago. This org does sleep on the goalie file though. I'm probably not a realist in this regard. yeah, unfortunately I knew Skinner was staying on. I sure didn't like it.

Yeah I said this earlier.

If we wanted to fix the goaltending it was incumbent upon us to do so after Smith retired. We didn’t now we’re stuck.

There were moments in this game when the team looked good but consistency is still a big issue.

Also...when this team breaks down they dont just give up a HDSC...they give up a HDSC on steroids.

Impossible! Those are elite goalies!
Oh and who could forget Vasilevsky losing to the juggernaut Blue Jackets.

If management was on their meds they wouldn't have hitched their wagon to Jack Campbell. That's the whole reason we are where we are.

Hell, go look at Shesterkin's stats this year. They're pretty mediocre. Swayman/Ullmark suck this year too.

Heres what will happen in the coaches room after tonight.

Knob will correctly assess tonight’s game. Clean up and address all the egregious and correctable errors and we will still be an elite team with as good a chance to win the Cup as any other team in the League.

Here’s what he won’t do. Yell at and blame Skinner until he becomes Sheshterkin.
Then he’ll go home. Pour himself a drink and think to himself. Damn I wish a had a Sheshterkin.

When Skinner wins two Cups like Vasilevsky has he too can be spoken in the same sentence.

Otherwise like wtf ... that dude has zero business being compared to him. Might as well also bring up Marty Reasoner when discussing Draisaitl. It's "all voodoo!".

He's a MIKKO KOSKINEN tier goalie. Maybe slightly worse because Koskinen was quicker in net.

Blackwood on a crappy Sharks team and his last 2 on COL who can leak a lot too

Blackwoods last 15 games. I will even let Skinner round up anything above 0.890. Could SKinner do this on our elite team? So average tending now is what? a tad under 0.900?

So about 12/15 games this guy could hit 900+

Yup, this dude would not have been better than SKinner. LMAO.

It's done now. Watch COL beat us in the playoffs with this dude. I gotta stop crying about it. Moron management will stay morons. Skinner will not do this here

I'm looking forward to reading another 6 pages of it, lol.
Lol. I’m about Rdy to pack it in on the skinner talk front, if it’s allowed to talk about the shit that Knob will actually care about. But atleast tonight it’s on a night that makes more sense unlike that time skinner let in an egregious ONE goal.

Then he’ll go home. Pour himself a drink and think to himself. Damn I wish a had a Sheshterkin.
If that’s his attitude, I don’t think he’s the elite coach that he is.

He has been over the years..you were crying in this much in the previous 5 games about goaltending?

I've already said this, but if Skinner didn't have among the worst numbers of starting goalies in the league he'd get some grace for bad starts. But when his season numbers are among the very worst in the NHL for starters, he doesn't get a free pass for the dog shit games he has.
