I still don't understand this concept of players not training in the offseason. Like are guys allowed to just skip the gym and cardio all summer? You'd think that there would be something in their contracts mandating constant conditioning in the offseason.

It's also about their lifestyle during the season. I feel like Bobby must be sorely lacking in discipline throughout the entire year.

Yeah, Ryan's never been super super fast. He has good turbo for a short time then he slags around for a while, falls down a bit, moves on. If I were BMurr I'd ask him to do some serious conditioning in the off-season instead of traipsing around in a trailer.

On the plus side, 4-0 with three shorties is sorta hilarious.

Didn't they ask him to spend more time in Ottawa last summer, and he said no?

They are people at the end of the day... and they have a powerful union to back them so they can get that free time.

Even that seems odd to me. These guys have an army of dietitians and personal trainers at their beck and call. I get that they pig out and booze it up fairly often, but like with how much they are working out and practicing they should still be in amazing shape.

Yeah, it is kind of funny that players are just allowed to do whatever they want during the summer. You'd be crazy not to train, but it's just as crazy that it seems like it's technically an option.

If Cameron does one thing right this season, I hope its him calling a timeout with 30 seconds left. I'd do unmentionable things to see that happen, and watch the Therrien post-game afterwards.

Even if Ryan trained like a mad man he would probably still skate like Weircioch. Everytime he skates it looks like he's struggling

The can do whatever they want in the summer. Who's going to make them work out?
