Maybe if instead of vets like Zaitsev and MDZ we went out and got competent Dmen we wouldn't have allowed 40 plus shots. The issue wasn't lack of vets, it was lack of talent on the backend.

Forget the goal in OT, that MDZ Zaitsev pairing was terrible.

Zaitsev got beat clean on 2-3 goals and just doesnt look there.

Stutzle had a rough one in OT but set up numerous chances all over the ice again. Should have like 6-7 more pts on the year plus he almost scored at the end.

Some will always pile on the skilled players in here and look where it got us

It’s clearly Stutzle fault that the defense allows 40+shots and 76 shot attempts.

He’s the one that signed MDZ, traded for Brown and keeps playing Zaitsev.

Stutzle may be fun to watch but it would be really nice if he was even remotely defensively responsible.

He actually had quite a few nice defensive plays this game. His only problem is his strength. He's 19, and hasn't filled out yet. If you see him live, you'll see what I mean, he is so skinny out there compared to everyone else.

We’ve had many coaches and multiple rebuilds and until there is a culture of professionalism we’re doomed to never have any real success. There’s a reason why as much as things change the on ice product stays eerily similar.

Can you stop? There is nothing similar about past mail it in teams to Tkachuk, Batherson, Norris, Pinto, Chabot, Zub. Nothing. These guys play hard. Can you wait until we add Sanderson and Pinto gets a few more reps before continuously harping on this rebuild? It's old already and we're not even 10 games into the season.

I mean, who is supposed to play? We have two good defencemen, it’s time people get used to the fact that DJ has no other choice but to deploy the other 4 as well - that’s the roster he has. Chabot and Zub can’t play the whole game.

Have to say. It is good to notice Sanford and not in a bad way. He's been good defensively and decent at trying to clear our zone. Hopefully with Watson back, that fourth line looks a little more solid. We definitely need to do something about the D corps though. Call up Branny.

Sure, Stützle owns a big part of that play, but two on one's happen all the time, a guy with 700 games under his belt has to do a better job when put in that position.
