What This Means for You:
Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I feel tremendous guilt for having a child, that's for sure, but that's not isolated to today.
Don't care what happens to me though. And I definitely give no f***s about the future of humanity. Ants on an anthill until the species is eradicated and another one takes hold eventually. It's inevitable. Hopefully the next one is cool like the Dinosaurs and not lame like humans though.
Don't feel guilty for having a child. Use that as motivation to make your life and your child's life better.
My dad was poor growing up. At first he was in a one bed room apartment with his crib in the living room. His parents didn't buy a house until he was in his 20s and moving out. Didn't have a coloured tv until the mid 70s.
But he uses that as motivation to get a good education and good job and now he's retired with a pension living in a million dollar place.
Obviously your concerns are more with the world, but just do your part in making everything around you better..
People in previous generations had it much much much worse...world wars with millions dying... illnesses killing millions that we've now cured.
You could argue something like "1995 was better" or something, but generally speaking, this is the best time to be alive! Sure, the economy is a little tough right now and there's a couple crazy leaders of countries out there... But that's always been the case. At least now we have technology to make our life easier that people didn't have before, while they also had to deal with the world seeming to be ending.
Imaging living in world war 1 and everything is going to shit...but it also takes you 3 hours to do laundry, and an hour to do dishes.
Give me a modern laundry machine, wifi, dishwasher, Netflix, 75" tv, etc.
I don't get the people that are so doomy and gloomy..open up a history book and you'll realize how amazing we have it now.
I think all the upgrades and switches of platform are the killersI've been on the internet some 30 years now and I stg I've never seen a site have such frequent problems as this one
Isn't that part of the problem now? We can sit at home and surf the net, watch netflix and play a fiddle comfortably while Rome burns...so to speak. That's why it's been so easy the last few decades for evil to take over.
Like being on the titanic...the first class suites and general opulence were so nice, no one could believe the ship could sink...until you're knee deep in water.
I think all the upgrades and switches of platform are the killers
So the problem is we have it so good that it must mean the ship is sinking?
Previous generations had it much much worse. I'm guessing you're young....don't remember the cold war?
Not too long ago I saw a video of how they were teaching kids how to cover under their desks in case of a blast.
We may be going through some political shit, but I don't remember hearing on the 5 o'clock news that Ottawa students are being trained to take cover.
Unless you're American and your kids have to deal with school shootings?
It's a reason why you don't go "cheap" for a cloud site. Xenforo Cloud is not a high quality site.I've been on the internet some 30 years now and I stg I've never seen a site have such frequent problems as this one
The best sites have multiple backups, security and other communications network capabilities. We paid a lot for redundancy where I worked. So the problem is we have it so good that it must mean the ship is sinking?

Why wouldn't they copy the site, and then try to upgrade the copy, so if anything fails, they have the original site untouched.
I'm no expert in software, but that strategy has saved me many many times. Copy and alter the copy. Save the original. Any issues? Go back to the original and keep working on the copy on the side until it's ready to launch.
You get what you pay for!I've been on the internet some 30 years now and I stg I've never seen a site have such frequent problems as this one
More like, we're so comfortable, that people won't get off the couch and leave their homes to stop bad things from happening until the evil is on our doorstep (and too late to stop). The whole bread and circuses thing....we've got one hell of a nice circus keeping everyone occupied these days.
